Worked for me as advertised
When the Directv in my bedroom was upgraded last week, the new HD box took up the HDMI port previously occupied by my Blu-Ray player (the other HDMI port is occupied by my Roku player). I took a chance and purchased this product, hoping it would work as advertised, and it has!The Roku player still has its own HDMI port. The Directv and Blu-Ray are hooked up to this 3-In 1-Out cable. Since the product advertisement says that if one attached cable has a constant signal, and a second cable suddenly transmits a signal, then it will switch to the new signal and then revert back once the signal is gone, I hooked everything up in this fashion:My Directv box is always transmitting, even when switched "off," so I hooked this one up first, and confirmed that the TV played normally. I then hooked up the Blu-Ray player (with the Blu-Ray's power turned off). I then turned on the Blu-Ray player, and it instantly switched from the Directv to the Blu-Ray. As soon as I turned the Blu-Ray off, it instantly swtiched back to the Directv. I have cycled back and forth between the two boxes, and everything is working as advertised! So, why only four stars? The blue indicator lights. First, why do you even need indicator lights? I mean, I don't need an indicator light to tell me that the Blu-Ray player is tranmitting to the TV when I will know it is transmitting because... Ta Dah!...I'll see the Blu-Ray video playing! Second, the little blue lights are so bright that they can function as a room-filling night light! Seriously, thses are some bright indicator lights. When all the lights were turned off in the bedroom last night, that little blue light was bright enough that some people would really be bothered by it (of course, a little electrical tape can fix the problem).Follow up: It has been just about one year, and it is still functioning as advertised. I've taken advantage of the bright blue LEDs and just twisted the switch so that it provides a soft blue glow on the far wall of the bedroom to provide low level illumination. With that, I'm bumping up my score to 4.5.Follow up #2: It has been two years (today is 8/6/13), and it is still working as advertised.

Works as advertised! Splits HDMI ports with no problem! (EDIT)
EDIT (April 2014): After about 3 years years of having this splitter, it's finally failed. Can't complain much, for 8 bucks and 3 years I got my use out of it. Just bought the same one again considering it's cheap and lasted this long.Taking away a star because it failed - but I still get my use out of it, and it's dirt cheap so I can't complain too much.I have a Dell monitor that has 1 HDMI port that I use for my PC, Playstation 3 and my HD DVR Cable Box.This cable not only allows me to plug in all of devices without having to swap them out, but also saves me the trouble of having to turn around the monitor just to unplug a cable and plug a new one in if I want to switch HDMI devices. It easily switches with a simple press of a button, and even automatically switches from an unused port to a used port when it senses a signal.Other HDMI splitters I looked at looked bulky and required a separate power cable. This one saves space by using the power from the HDMI port, hence no external power source needed.Sound and video quality are just as good as when the devices were plugged in without the adapter.I don't know why this product has so many negative reviews; I don't see any problem with this device. Works flawlessly and with NO quality loss whatsoever.Again, I'm using it on a 23 inch Dell monitor that only has one HDMI port. Maybe (don't take my word on this) it doesn't do so well on larger television sets?I dunno; but it works 100% fine for me.(Also I have to LOL at the guy who submitted the picture of him taking the thing apart and throwing it in the trash. He could have sent it back and got his money back. Or I would have taken it off his hands and have more ports LOL)I've tested this device on different television sets and monitors and it still works just as fine for me with no quality loss.Maybe the reviewers with lower ratings were unfortunate enough to get ones with manufacturer defects.Mine however still works to this day and I still stand by my recommendation.

Overpriced, but does its job well
It's been working just fine so far. I suspect flickering and not switching issues mentioned in other reviews have something to do with device compatibility. I am using it only for 2 devices - the Amazon Fire Stick and the Cubetek media player. Both these and my TV are connected to a single surge protector, so they all get switched on at the same time. This switcher defaults to the Cubetek Media Player. It does not switch automatically to the Fire Stick, even if I put the latter on sleep, put the media player on standby and wake up the Fire Stick. However, the auto switching always works with the media player, even from standby. I haven't faced any flickering / blank screen issues at all. Also, the picture quality from the media player is far higher through this splitter than via the HDMI cable that came with it. That was a nice bonus. The only thing I am not happy about is the price. Comparable products internationally cost nearly half this. A version on Amazon.com which supports 4k and 3D costs the equivalent of only Rs 644.

Saves you from pressing the remote!
It works almost automatic, it switches itself to the recently switched ON source, which even a TV or audio system having multiple HDMI is not able to.Well some gadgets like TataSky settop box keep the HDMI out alive even after switching off the box, which leaves the HDMI out powered on with not signal. In this case this device doesn't switch to the next device automatically (but if you power off the set top box from the mains then the auto switchover happens)

Great little device.
Switch works well however the automatic part only works if the power is off to all but 1 unit. So if you have Apple TV and cable and android box this cable will only work if you choose the feed. It does this very well manually. As the cable receiver and TV Box both only go into stand by power mode the switch can not choose a different feed. So if you are watching the TV (cable) and you want to go to either of the other two feeds you have to manually change it. It's not automatic if there are stand by modes. Also could use a longer HDMI out cable off the switch.

Auto switches and high quality
Works like a charm. Plugged in my blue ray, my htpc and Xbox one. I just turn on one device and it automatically switches to that signal. When I turn the first device off and the. Turn the next one on it auto switches to that device. No more unplugging and replugging things in. It’s awesome. Great value for your money.

Defective Product I received
Today I received this HDMI auto switcher, when I plugged it to my HD Settop box and then I plugged my Tv to it but no indicator was showing nor its displaying the pictures on tv. I think it was defective, so I returned it to Amazon for replacement, now let's see the new should work well. If it's work fine, I will definitely post my review.
