It works!
We have an IKEA bed (slats) with a very heavy, dead-weight (but extremely comfortable) IKEA 100% LaTeX mattress. I wasn't sure how these would hold up, but it works great. My wife says my snoring is down 90%, my sleep is much better. I have no more acid reflux issues at night. While I am very good about not eating after 7-8pm, I did have ice cream at 8pm last night, which was a test to see how it worked. Amazingly, I had no acid issues. I have significantly cut back on taking acid reducer meds. My wife has stomach hernia thing, which is what prompted us to get the riser per doctor recommendation. The downside, it takes a few weeks to get used to it, and occasionally you have to pull yourself or your blanks back up. It is after all an incline. I seemed to have gained more from it than my wife has, and we got it for her condition. My wife thinks we are officially old, with the riser bed. Maybe so, but wish I had gotten something like this 10 years ago.

Does what it supposed to do. Exactly like the pictures here.
Many reviews on here complain about this product, working exactly as it is intended to. They just dont want to sleep on an incline and blame the product for this. These people complain about sliding to the bottom of the bed or feeling like they are falling out of bed. If you need to sleep on an incline like this for health reasons there is a couple month learning curve when you first start but its totally worth it. This product works and does just what it says it will do very effectively. I have been sleeping on an inclined bed for over 15 years because of acid reflux and gerd issues. I have used several different methods to achieve this elevation over the years. First I put one end of the bed up on 4 inch wooden blocks. This worked ok for a time but was not the most stable solution and it also moved the floor support leg in the middle of the off of the ground causing sag in the middle of my box spring/matress. Then I found a metal device that nested inside a traditional bed frame under the box spring and again made the center bed foot not have any weight on it and sit at a strange angle. This solution is the best I have used as of yet. As a side sleeper I dont like a traditional adjustable bed because you cant incline the whole bed and need to be on your back to use the incline feature because it bends the mattress in the middle. There are some bed frames that have the same angle and essentially do the same thing (like the gravity bed) but they are far more expensive than this solution. for the price this is definitely the best solution I have tried.

Not a Good Buy
This wedge does nothing, NOTHING at all, to help a person with GERD. You still need a couple of piled pillows or a wedge pillow on the top of your mattress to elevate your head properly. Iโve given it lots of time and this product just is useless. You might as well be sleeping just on a flat mattress. I wouldโve sent it back if I had suspected how bad was going to be. As for comfort, it doesnโt make any difference. But it made the bed really high. Being short, itโs sort of practice for later climbing a small mountain.

LOVE THIS - Totally worth the price
Hiatal hernias are not for the complacent. Especially if you also have asthma and sleep apnea. Had a wedge before, but it was not as tall, and was a softer foam, and it was crumbling with age - which added foam-dust to the mix. I was sleeping with extra pillows, and only on the left side, and was still miserable. First night with this, slept like a rock, and have slept well ever since. Highly recommend. It feels like it will last for several years. Sometimes I slide down the bed. Sometimes the covers slide down the bed. But absolutely never enough to make me regret buying this wedge.

Great! Only product that works with Purple Brand Hybrid #3 Mattresses
This is the ONLY product strong enough to work UNDER the weight of a PURPLE HYBRID #3 Mattress without condensing down flat! As Purple owners know, putting anything on TOP of the mattress defeats the purpose of owning the pricy Purple Brand mattress. Purple Hybrid Mattresses are probably the heaviest mattress on the market, yet the AVANA 7" dense foam remains firm, despite the mattress weight, allowing incline to prevent reflux without being smashed flat. (I'm confident the Avana 5" version would work under the much lighter, thinner "Original Purple" mattress as well.) This product will also work great on TOP of any other type of mattress. *Note: The problem with platform bed frames is that if just the head of the platform is raised (i.e.blocks under the feet of the head of the bed etc) then the supports under the middle of the bed no longer touch the floor. Using the Avava bed ramp under the mattress solves this problem! It allows only the mattress to be on a incline, instead of the bed frame, which makes moving the bed for for cleaning etc MUCH easier...This product arrived earlier than expected, was well packaged and no odor. Follow instructions and allow to expand fully before using...After reading reviews, I ordered the QUEEN with the pre-covered pieces (comes as TWO separate queen length pieces, each in a zippered cover, that go side by side, and are EASIER to lift and place than a one large piece). The covers are WELL WORTH the extra money. The covers allowed for easier manipulation when needed to slide the heavy mattress on top of it. Previous reviews has indicated difficulty trying to put covers on yourself so I opted for the pre-covered ones. Very happy with my purchase.

Worth Every Penny
I recently started battling acid reflux, not sure if it's GERD or not yet, but this thing alivated almost all my symptoms within the first couple days. Absolutely worth it!

Seem to have worse sleep since purchasing this mattress elevator.
I purchased this mattress elevator since I have sleep apnea and GERD and my doctor thought this was worth trying to improve my sleep. I set the mattress elevator up as directed and was glad it has no smell. I find it hard to find a comfortable place during the night. I slide down the mattress, and often wake up and find I'm sleeping in the middle of the bed, not benefitting from the elevation of my head and shoulders- I naturally slipped into that part of the bed. The mattress elevator also slides and every few days it needs to be pulled up again to be aligned with my mattress. I'm disappointed that this purchase has not helped me and has been quite uncomfortable. I've had it for several weeks and will give it another week before I give it away.

a new angle on sleep
Prompt shipment. After unfurling the two wedges and leaving them set out for a day to fully expand, covering them and putting them into place was easy. So far it is working as expected. Takes very little time to get used to the new angle.
