Residential Design Using Autodesk Revit 2020 is designed for users completely new to Autodesk Revit. This text takes a project based approach to learning Autodesk Revit’s architectural tools in which you develop a single family residence all the way to photorealistic renderings like the one on the cover. Each book also includes access to extensive video training designed to further help you master Autodesk Revit. The lessons begin with a basic introduction to Autodesk Revit 2020. The first four chapters are intended to get you familiar with the user interface and many of the common menus and tools. Throughout the rest of the book a residential building is created and most of Autodesk Revit’s tools and features are covered in greater detail. Excellent teaching tool
I wanted to learn how to use Autodesk Revit, so I signed up for an online college course. It turns out, the professor didn't really intend to teach; she just told us to do the exercises in this book. Guess what? This book plus having access to Revit really is enough to introduce you to Revit and then give you a good comprehensive foundation of the basics of using that program. There is still more I could learn, and I will take another course (with a different professor,) but I am completely satisfied with this excellent textbook.

For the REAL Beginner
Very thorough book for a beginner ... and I mean someone that has never used CAD or design software of any kind. Much of it dealing with basic menus, terminology etc. Well written and great for what it is ... but for me I was expecting something that dealt mostly with the more advanced capabilities of Revit. For someone familiar with CAD or design software I'd suggest using the online help that comes with Revit, a bit more of a pain, but ends up being quicker in the long run.

I was a little worried with just one review!
Textbook has a lot of information and really goes in detail on how to build a two story house with a basement, stairs and driveway. Amazing study for Cad and Revit students. Book came in wrapped and in great condition.

Easy to read.
This is a good book to start with to learn Revit.

Revit it up!
Since one of the reviews was written about the consumers inability to understand what they were buying it should receive a higher rating. MEP is a separate discipline from creating a structure. Revit is the best thing to happen to the construction industry since power tools, and this text is a good beginning.

Great Book
Great start book for high school or college students. My only issue is it does not teach placement of HVAC and the associated fixtures/appliances such as water heater or furnace/AC. Love the videos.

I thought I was getting a software program and now I have a huge book I need to try and resell.
