Clic Magnetic Reading Glasses - Original (S-M) - Rigid Headband

I have reached the age where I just need a little help reading. My regular prescription glasses are no help close up. Regular reading glasses arent't a good solution, because the last thing I need is something else to carry in my pockets, and then I have to figure out where to put my regular glasses without losing or damaging them. I could put regular reading glasses on a chain, and have a chain for my regular glasses, too, but who wants all those chains, and a pair of glasses bouncing and swinging around when I walk or lean forward? I tried bi-focal reading lenses, but just couldn't adjust to them -- half of my world was blurry all the time, which is worse than an occasional blurry page. So, these Clic glasses are a great alternative. When pulled apart and folded, they just ride right there around my neck -- they don't bounce and they don't fall off. When I need them, I just fold out the lenses, clic them together, and I can read! I also discovered that since the frames adjust for length, I can actually wear them OVER my regular glasses. I pop them on for a minute or two to read something, then pop them off, and they just hang there, waiting for me to need them next. Granted, wearing them over my regular glasses is probably a little funky looking, buy do you know what? I DON'T CARE! I never lose my regualar glasses, I can read conveniently and clearly, and to tell you the truth, I am secure enough in my humanity that looking a bit funky for a few minutes a day really doesn't bother me. Anyway, I highly recommend these glasses, and have. That's the other thing -- most people have never seen glasses like this, so they get a lot of comments. Positive comments. Several people at work have asked where they can get some. I tell them to go to Amazon.

I spend 10 to 15 hrs in front of multiple computer screens. Obviously when you do that, you need to take breaks. I work from home and used to leave my reading glasses all over the place. Nose pads would break, the metal frames would bend etc. These glasses solve all of these issues. 1-The design allows me to keep the glasses around my neck, thus no putting them down when I am not using them. 2-There aren't any nose pads to break and they are very comfortable. 3-As they are made of a plastic material, the frames can't bend. The overall design of the glasses also help to protect them from breaking. Very well done. It as been a week or two that I have been wearing them and I am very happy so far. I will update this post if I find any problems. OK, one small issue. They don't fit in my glasses case when I go outside. I then need to use traditional glasses.

I went looking for these because a friend of mine had them. He wore them around his neck most of the time. They sure looked more handy than the old eyeglass chains the ladies used to wear because it wouldn't hang down and get in your way all the time. He was a plumber and I quickly realized that glasses like these would enable to keep your reading glasses nearby AND out of the way as you worked so that you could grab them just for the occasional thing. For a long time, I haven't needed my glasses often enough while working (generally home repairs, projects, etc) to not just lay a pair nearby (I have them all over the house!), but now that isn't working very well. I leave my glasses with my pencil and tape measure and go to cut the thing, or screw it down--and need the glasses there too! But then I need them back off of me for the 'big picture.' I remembered my friend's glasses and came for a pair. I liked the look of the clear ones, but didn't think about how prominent the magnet would be in clear ones! My friend's were solid colored, and looked like regular glasses when they were on. So I dropped a star for that. I wouldn't have dropped it if they had put a full front pic, but they didn't put one that you could see the magnet in, only one at a little distance on the model. It might not bother some people, but I would have preferred to not see the magnet. That's my only complaint. Well, I wouldn't have gotten clear at all if they'd had a solid color I liked better . . . so I guess there's that too. But they are GREAT to use. I can just wear them around my neck and they're out of my way, and when they're needed, snap them onto my face. The strap that keeps them around my neck then functions as a band to help keep them on my face when I bend over while using them. My old ones that fit well didn't fall either usually, but when they did, they fell into my work--or under it, or whatever. These are too pricey for two pair on my budget, I wish I could just grab a second pair. And I'd like a pair of orange ones like my friend had . . . or neon green . . .

Quit looking for your glasses! Always around neck, however, if wearing a pony you will have to adjust. Clic does make a necklace type (unibody) that would probably fix this annoyance. I will try somdeday.

I was a little reluctant at first to buy these, since I can get other readers for a lot less online or at the store. However, I'm forever loosing my standard readers when I remove them. (Chains were too long and in my way, when I would store them on my head they would fog up from riding around on my overheating menopausal head, and into a pocket or on the table it was too easy for me to forget them.) Haven't lost my readers since I got these, I have found them to be solidly constructed so far. A little tight at first but they don't feel too narrow after a few wears. Also my 5 and 7 year old nephews are obsessed with them.

I am very pleased with these readers. They do what every readers do, if you get the right strength, that's to help you see the print and read. These glasses take convenience a step farther. They are there when you want them and out of the way when you don't . You don't haver to fumble with them, pulling them over your head, getting them out of the way of your clothing, etc. or reach into your pockets or purse to get them. These, on the other hand, are very comfortable. The strong magnet inside of the nose piece clicks together below your chin when not in use and with an easy step the magnet opens and they are reattached over your eyes. They also look kind of stylish. I'm very pleased and therefore, 5 Stars.

My husband uses these glasses faithfully and he loves them. He has bought many pairs so that he has them everywhere! (But mostly because he loses them!) They are durable. The magnet works perfectly to click them together, he has old pairs that still work like the first day he got them! Every time he clicks them on at a restaurant or a cash register someone notices and it starts a conversation.
