Trend Tool, Blade & Bit Cleaner, CLEAN/500

I've been using Trend tool and bit cleaner for at least four years for all of the cutting edges in my shop. I think I'm on my third bottle since 2020 or so. I really love this cleaner and it makes such a huge difference having clean cutters on all your machines. I initially bought it to clean table saw blades, and it works great for that. I have a silicone baking mat that I put down on my bench. I spray the blade on one side, flip it over, spray the other side and let it sit for maybe 2 or 3 minutes. From there, I use an old tooth brush to scrub off the resin with little effort. I attached a short video where you can see how well it cleans my sawblade with only about ten seconds soak time--it still gets most of the residue. Finally I just pat dry with a paper towel and I'm good to go. No need to waste the product rinsing the blade afterwards, and no need to be scrupulous about getting all of the product off of the blade before using it. It acts as a lubricant and rust inhibitor, so just pat dry and get back to work. I clean my blades every day that I use them, and it pays off--if you think your blades are dull or if you're burning the wood--90% of the time they are still sharp but just dirty, and cleaning them makes a night and day difference. Since then, I've started using this product to clean router bits, carbide bandsaw blades, jointer knives--I even spray down the helical head on my 15" planer and scrub it down from time to time. It also works great on those expensive sanding belts, especially if you have a bunch of buildup from resinous tropical hardwoods. When you spray it on, you can see the resin absorb the cleaner and come loose. Then I wipe it off, and follow that with a regular rubber belt cleaner. For really bad buildup you can spray the cleaner on liberally and wrap the belt in clingfilm or a garbage bag and let it sit for a while. For things like router bits I spray them down and wrap them in clingfilm, put them in a shot glass and come back 10 minutes later to scrub with a toothbrush. When routing really hard resinous woods I'll even spray router bits after a pass or two to clean them right on the router. You can also use this stuff to clean gunk off of hand plane irons, drill bits--you name it. Another trick is to take your cleaning cloth or paper towel after you've cleaned one tool and use the residual cleaner to wipe off your chisels, drill bits, whatever. It acts as a rust inhibitor as well, so it's great for that. Last but not least, this stuff is a mild lubricant--you can actually leave a bit of residue on a table saw blade or router bit and it can give you an advantage against burning. You don't want the cutter to feel wet to the touch, it should just feel a little slick. Some folks will also use this as a honing fluid when sharpening chisels / planes, etc., though I just use soapy water myself and wouldn't waste this stuff for that, but some people don't like to use water when they are honing, and this stuff would work great, and avoid rust. So I definitely love and recommend this stuff. A little goes a long way, and a bottle will last you a while.

I've been using this for a while, seems to work well even with heavily used blades that need cleaning in the worst way. Spray it on, let it soak for a few minutes, use a brass bristle brush and the resin and pitch just washes away. I use it in a small pan where I can use some water to rinse my blades and bits, seems to work very quickly and is one of the easiest cleaners I've used. I know that I would rather clean my blades along instead of sharpening, I use to think they were dull, now I know they've been in need of a good cleaning. The product goes a long way, I've cleaned over a dozen blades and still have lots of product left, the pump bottle keeps waste to a minimum.

Overall it is a good alcohol base cleaner for my wood shop tools. I have to admit it's not as good as the MEK product my neighbor got some time ago (I don't believe it's for sale anymore). But with a bit of elbow grease and suitable soaking the saw blades and other tools have come clean. I appreciate the large 18 oz size. I've used about 3 oz so far. I try to be mizerly with the product which might be why I use more elbow grease. I didn't have any rusty tools so haven't checked the performance on rust. My primary use is gum from resin and pitch. Overall, a good cleaner and I would recommend trying it if you have been disappointed in others (like I have).

I've been trimming my landscaping with my hegetrimmer since I bought it new 5 years ago. I used silicone lubricant to lubricate the blades, but never used a resin remover. There was quite a bit of resin on the blades and it sounded a bit rough when running. After looking at the reviews on this product, I decided to buy it and see how well it worked at removing 5 year old resin. It really works very well. I sprayed it over the blades, let it sit for a few minutes, and wiped off, and some resin came off. I sprayed again, letting it sit for a few minutes, and used a wire brush, and boy, the old resin came right off. I'm glad I bought this resin remover, because the blades look new. It sounds alot better running, too, after getting that resin off the blades.

This stuff works really well. It is not quite “spray and wipe off” but works well with a small wire brush. Let soak for ~5 mins then lightly brush the tough spots. I cleaned all my saw blades and most of my router bits in record time, some of which hade pitch burned in (long story). This spray is also effective in cleaning other tools that may have gunk on them.

This stuff is awesome. I maintain pruners, loppers and other hand tools for a landscaping company and this stuff is able to remove sap and any other stuck on plant material that I used to have to remove with a rotary tool. You can let it soak or use a nylon bush and everything will just wipe away after. I just wish they offered it in a bulk size. Felco pruners or any others and it works with them all. Really easy to use. It also protects against rust so don't worry about it going into pivots etc.

I bought a new hedge trimmer and couldn't get the tree sap out of the blades. I tired baby oil, make up remover, wipes. On top of that I used a green scratch pad, brush, electric tooth brush. I could only remove less than half of the sap from the blades after half an hour of work. This stuff is a game changer; when 10 minutes total would have removed 90% of the sap - spray, let sit and wipe with normal cloth. That's it! And it only smells a little soapy without really nasty solvent or oil smell.

This product really cleans tools and tool accessories properly and with ease .

Reinigung der Sägeblätter funktioniert damit einwandfrei. Beim Auftrag/Anwendung bekommt man nach einigen Malen das Gefühl für die erforderliche Menge des Reinigers. Das reine abziehen mit einem Tuch hat bei mir jedoch nicht sofort zum besten Ergebnis geführt, ich habe eine Bürste dafür genutzt.

I’ve tried branded resin removers, but so far this is the best hedge cutter blade resin remover I’ve used. It works within seconds and leaves the blades spotlessly clean. 👌🏻
