Spent almost an hour trying to loosen an oil filter after a quick lube place severely over tightened it with no luck, even breaking a filter socket in the process. I had extreme measures available, but had to be careful to not damage the filter if I wasn't able to get it off, and disable the vehicle. This filter wrench got it loose in ten seconds. Note: This filter wrench can be reversed and used to tighten if you completely expand the jaws, and flip the central hub and arms the opposite direction. If you look at the photo in the ad, the wrench is set to tighten, not loosen. My wrench arrived set to tighten as well, and would have been utterly useless for loosening a filter if I hadn't flipped it to the right direction. Applying torque would have been pushing the jaws apart, not squeezing them onto the filter. I suspect that the negative reviews saying this wrench slipped are due to folks not making sure the wrench is set to the right direction. No clue how long it'll hold up long term, but it looks solid and got that one oil filter off with no issues. As far as I'm concerned, that one use paid for the wrench.

You know the situation. Get a new vehicle that someone took to a oil change place and the technician over tightened the filter. This works great. Small enough for tight spaces, excellent grip and easy to use. Highly Recommended!

Just tried to use this "tool" for the first time what a complete FAILURE! It won't tighten, grasp on the filter. The filter is in a unfriendly place and I was hoping this would make my life a little easier but NO, complete FAILURE, and frustration. I would advise anyone considering this "tool" to not waste your money and time!! Thank you

This is the 2nd product I tried to use for removing my oil filter on my 2021 Vanderhall Blackjack and it performed flawlessly! The product is heavy duty metal and it grips the filter and loosens with ease. It's also good at putting the new filter on with just enough torque. Highly recommend!

My order arrived earlier than expected which allowed me to tackle that stubborn oil filter on my Triumph Speedmaster. I had tried every trick in the book to get the old filter removed but nothing worked. I was almost ready to give up. This tool arrived and ten minutes later the old filter was off. Highly recommend this oil filter removal wrench particularly to Triumph Bonneville model owners because of the very awkward placement of the oil filter!
