This is a well built garden edging tool, a bit more expensive than some others but durable and made in USA. It makes a deeper cut (12 inches) than I need for installing the edging material I chose, but that spade depth will likely come in handy on other projects.

I’ve had a few of these I couldn’t even get into the soil in beds around my yard. This was my last hope for edging. It works SO SO WELL! Great quality. While I can’t speak to longevity since I just got it, it seems like it should last. Highly recommend!

Always happy with Bully Tools, and this is no exception. One must keep in mind that this type of spade is not for heavy prying or chipping away at hard ground - although this tool could handle more than others I've used. It is great for traditional planting activities in prepared garden soil. And I just used it to dig 100 feet of deep trench: the long, sturdy blade is excellent for working the bottom and sides of a narrow trench for an electric line direct burial or a drain line where wider trenches are unnecessary or undesirable. It cut thru mesquite roots up to one inch with little effort. Combined with a "drain shovel" to clean out the trench, it made quick work of the project. Now I'm off to install about 75 feet of stainless steel trench drain with some portions of the corex pipe reaching 3 feet deep. This tool is essential for shaping and fitting the ground for the drain components. Great product!

Was removing sod from an area for transfer and had bought an Ames lawn edger that fell apart after an hour. Decided to get something a little more expensive (and American made) and bought this Bully product. Upon its arrival I was able to cut and pry the sod with ease. Really tough and well made, D-handle was perfect for leverage. I will be looking at bully products first from now on.

Very sturdy, great for edging

I have had the shovel for 18 months and use it regularly. I dig out weeds with it. while trying to pry out a weed I heard a loud CLICK and the corner of the shovel broke off. Bully Tools have a lifetime guaranty to be free of defects and should be returned to the place of purchase for replacement. Amazon will not allow me to return it, DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON if you expect any manufacturers guarantee to be honored. I love the shovel and will buy another. Aug 14, 2016 UPDATE: Bully Tool honored their Guaranty and sent me a new Spade which is my favorite garden tool again

The shovel is apparently well made, with good design criteria which make it easy to use. For one day only!!! On the second day of use the blade cracked all the way through, midway between the blade end and the top, perendicular to the handle. I can only conclude that very poor quality steel was used for the blade itself. This failure was not a result of improper use or improperly stressing the blade by prying with it. If an averagre strength, 80-year-old can break it while using it properly, it's just not a good product.

If you are hard on equipment like am I, you've easily broken shovel handles from the big box stores I've pulled pretty hard on this shovel and it doesn't bend or break. Definitely worth the month! Bully didn't disappoint.

Holy sheep dip Batman, I didn't know you could still buy a tool made this well! This baby isn't going to bend like the last cheaper one I bought.
