Works like it should
I really like this item. I appreciate the way it locks open and how to get it to close. The only thing, make sure you take the time to really measure its placement. I thought I did it perfectly, but am off just a little bit. So the door does not open as far as I would like, but still works fine. Very easy to install. Again, just make sure you measure accurately.

Easy replacement, works great
I've had to replace this part on my screen door a few times and this has been the best one so far. Easy one touch push button stop. Super stupid easy to change out. If I would quit leaving the door propped open when big winds come by, I wouldn't have to replace it as much. 😀

Won’t last too long before needing replacement
I have bought several over the years for my glass door. They work for some time but need to be replaced every 1-2 years.

Awesome Door Opener w/ Hold Button. Opens full 90 Degrees.
This is an awesome door opener. The only thing I cannot speak to at this time is its longevity. It is "heavy-duty" rated, so I am expecting a satisfactory lifespan. The instructions were adequate, but a how-to video would have been appreciated. The one video at their website was for a different opener. I needed an opener that would open a full 90 degrees (and this one does) for accessibility reasons; it will be used by a person with a walker and mobility scooter. (I will be adding an exterior ramp). Since this was a replacement for an existing (worn-out) door closer, I purchased the same color (black) and was able to use the existing door jamb bracket with it. [See photo]. I decided NOT to try to use the old bracket attached to the storm door, but to use the new bracket that came with the new door closer. It seemed it might need more finagling to make it work with the old backet, and I did not want to affect its operation. The hold button works great. Opens to a full 90 degrees. All-in-all, a very nice product. NOTE: I also added a new "wind chain" as part of this project. Sensible to have the extra layer of protection for the new opener, and also for the storm door itself.

Works well, so far
We have heavy glass storm doors at front and back of our home. They both had pneumatic closers with "slider" stops - where you have to push the door open with one hand, reach up with the other hand, and slide the metal stop along the rod until it touches the closer. My wife found them cumbersome, and I decided to replace the one on the back door when I saw that the metal holder (screwed into the door jamb), was bent and about to break. It took me about 10 mins to replace the failing holder with the new one that comes with this closer, then about 5 more minutes to get the closer installed and working. It's excellent. Open the door to 90 degrees, reach up and push up on the button, release the door, and it stays open at about 85 degrees. To close, just gently push the door to 90 degrees (you'll hear a click as the button releases), let go of the door, and it closes. So the only downside so far (as mentioned by others) is that it doesn't hold open at a full 90 degrees. However, my wife liked it so much that I immediately bought one for the front door. There, nothing was breaking, so it was a 30 second job to pull the two retaining pins, remove the existing closer, replace it with the new one, and re-install the pins. So, definite 5 stars so far. If either of them fails, I'll come back to edit this review, which is being posted in May 2025.

Not the Larson Door Notched Locking Closer
After 14-years, a Larson screen door I have with the foot operated closing lock got windblown and bent the closer rod. This one I ordered from Amazon about 45-days ago worked fine until one day it didn't and locked open; nothing I could do to it except remove and toss it would unlock it for long. The original Larson closer had a notched rod closing system; this one I ordered fit fine, but it was not notched, but relied on the same kind of locking system as the manual ones where a slide is manually slid along the rod to hold the door open; those are fine until they decide to not move or not unlock, but one can simply move the slide to another angle and all is well: not so with this one: when it hangs up, you're dead, one can't defeat the lock, it's hidden . . . just replace it; and it seems that only Larson makes a notched replacement, so I ordered one from them, a little more expensive, but hopefully it'll last 14-years or more.

Run to get inside
I bought this closer so it would keep the screen door from whacking me on the butt before I can rush myself inside. I thought the problem was that my old closer had died. Turns out, this one works exactly the same. For the first 2/3rds of its swing, it swings FAST, then it stops... and moves at the speed you've set it at via the speed adjustment screw. Do people want their screen door to shut quickly for the first 2/3rds of the swing? The fast closing screen door has actually gouged my arm with its handle twice lately (the motivation for buying a new closer). However, I am not sure if this is my misunderstanding of how a screen door should work. Honestly, I'm literally afraid of this door and may just remove it. The only reason I'm not giving this a 1 is because I am questioning myself as much as the closer. p.s. Instructions were mildly hellish - vague terms, confusing diagrams. Thankfully instructions are brief.

Touch n’ Hold
This tool has been an awesome quality of life improvement for my grandmother. Being able to keep her own door open by herself so she can push her walker though means she doesn’t have to wait on anyone to be able to go outside or check her mail! She’s been loving how easy it is to use. It’s was also very easy to install and I wish we had done it sooner.
