Conaprole is the best. I can't put my finger on it
I was introduced to dulce de leche when I lived in Uruguay many moons ago. Since then, I have tried numerous brands from Argentina to Brazil and I honestly have to say that hands down, Conaprole is the best. I can't put my finger on it, but it really is THAT good. It's creamy and smooth. Almost buttery. I did a back flip when I found it online via Amazon and was disappointed that it was out of stock. I asked to be notified when it was available and boom! I got my email and I put in an order immediately. It is pricey but this is a huge jar and it's worth every penny.

Jars arrives broken, still tastes amazing!
Unfortunately, both jars arrived broken, which made me very upset. However, it got here before four days before the earliest estimated date of arrival and honestly I live this dulce de leche so much I played a high stakes game of risk/reward and scooped out as much as I could salvage #worthit.
