Truly a "seeing is believing" experience. Amazing.
So the back half of 2019 is late to the party for PSVR, but I just arrived. I want to start off by saying I have NOT tried any PC tethered VR before so this review is based on going from Zero VR experience to owning a PSVR. In the box, there are a lot of cords and accessories, but there is a booklet that clearly describes the method and order of hooking everything up. Basically you end up with a little powered processing box in between your PS4 and TV/receiver that the headset connects to via a relatively long, 2 port wire. The Playstation camera also gets connected to the PS4 and comes with a nice little flexible stand. This needs to go somewhere where it can face the player, it doesn't necessarily need to be centered above or below the TV - I put mine off to the side of the screen so others could watch - the player just plays centered in front of it. There are 2 Move wands in the package which are sort of like a Wii-mote with a light up rubber bulb on top which the camera looks at for motion tracking. There is no D-pad (arrows) or joysticks on the move controllers, so menu navigation is done by pulling the trigger and waving in a direction. [(pro tip: it's sometimes challenging to connect both Move wands to the PS4. I suggest turning the PS4 on manually, then the Moves one at a time. Don't use a dualshock first or the PS4 seems to struggle to recognize the 2nd move)] The headset itself is exactly what it looks like - a large, plasticky device you strap your head into. It comes with earbuds as well that actually sound good but you can use your own headphones or just the TV/speakers sound as well. I have a large head and find it relatively comfortable, there is a clicking lock on the back for tightening it in place and a slider on the front to adjust the main screen part closer or further from your face. Once you get it somewhat situated on your face and slide it up to your eyes, the magic begins. Honestly the first few times I played with this, I would describe the experience in one of these ways: exhilarating, mind-blowing, incredible, how is this possible, etc. I see a lot of complaints tossed PSVR's way about low power, bad tracking, poor graphics/resolution, and so on, but if you're in it to have fun and not comparing to high end PC VR, you will be blown away and so will everyone you show it to. Here are some things I've experienced so far: Superhot: This game really is a showcase for VR in my opinion. There are these red glass looking dudes coming after you, and the catch is they only move when you do. You have to get them before they get to you by punching, shooting, and throwing things at them. You stay basically in one place while they move towards you. It's wild because they seem life size and you really feel like things are being shot at you. Ducking around a spray of bullets in slow motion, grabbing a weapon and firing it back while tossing a bottle in the other direction with your other hand... it seriously feels like an experience moreso than a game. Amazing. Blood & Truth: This came with the bundle I purchased. It is basically like being the star in a movie - lots of scenes of just watching and listening to the story, mixed with shooting, picking locks, and blowing things up. The graphics are very good, and the game gives you a real sense of presence. The game recommends playing sitting down but I preferred standing. Where this one got me was the motion - you move around in game by looking in a direction and pressing a button, then your character moves, but obviously in real life you're holding still - so it made my head feel funny at first. After trying a couple more times in short bursts I got used to it and don't feel badly anymore. I think a lot of VR first timers have experienced this in a game where you move around more than just a fixed location. I had no motion sickness with either of the other 2 games mentioned in this review as you don't move around an environment in those. Beat Saber: WOW. This one is addictive. Think guitar hero or other music rhythm games, except the notes are colored boxes and your job is to slash them as they fly at you with the corresponding colored LIGHTSABER that you have in your hands, along to the beat of some pretty insane EDM type music. I think this game has the lowest learning curve of any I've tried, because you don't need to push any buttons while playing a song, you just swing away. Definitely a challenge to master, though. As an added bonus, it's a great workout! I wore a heart rate monitor and played a bunch of songs on expert (failing often) for about an hour and 15 minutes, and burned 940 calories!! (I'm a fairly big guy, results may vary). So recap: addicting, loud, good workout, easy to explain, difficult to master, MUST OWN for PSVR. I would like to wrap up by saying that if you own a PS4, I highly recommend PSVR as a kickoff to some crazy gaming experiences. Seeing VR in action for the first time is game-changing, and it adds a lot of variety to a gaming library. It's fun to show to people who haven't played VR or otherwise don't game. The experience and hardware are solid, and there's plenty to do 2 years into PSVR's lifecycle. Sony has claimed that PSVR and all of your games will be compatible with PS5, as well, so I'm not worried about buying in late and glad they're forward thinking in this area. The only other note is my PS4 is the Pro version, which supposedly offers slightly improved VR performance over the base PS4. That being said, from what I've read, the experience is great either way.

VR review
What can I say? Playstation Vr might not be the most expensive vr set on the market, but it is worth every penny. I bought 5 of them and enjoy every moment that I get to watch a movie or play a game using the headset. For starters, you can watch your 3d movies with out ghosting like you would get with a 3d tv, and with the right headset you have perfect stereo sound and your own private movie theater. The Vr head set takes the aspect ratio of the movie and that is the format of the screen that you will get. In other words if it is 4:1 then it will be full screen and look like an old time boxed movie screen. If the aspext ratio is 16:9 or 2.35.1 then it will be a wider screen. I love watching the old black and white movies because I feel like I am watching it on an old time movie screen and I like the feel of it. As far as it goes, 3d movie are great too. What ever depth perception was given to the movie, that is how much depth you will feel. I have a few 3d under water movies and the fish are right there in your face. The vr set allows you to control the size of the screen. You can choose small, medium, or large. For your 3d movies I would choose the large screen for the beast 3d depth but no less than the medium size screen. The best thing about this head set is that you will not have to format you 3d movies like you have to do with other Vr headsets. You also get to enjoy vr games and I can say without a doubt any gamer will enjoy being right there in the middle of the action while playing their favorite vr game. So all in all you get the best of both worlds, games and movies and with so many great movies coming out as well as games you can't go wrong. I would say for those people who want a 3d or non 3d experience and don't have the room for a big screen tv or movie screen this is something that you should look into.

Amazing! And at the same time... has lots of room to improve.
If you're still on the fence about trying it out. I'll urge you to give it a try. If you have a friend that has one, try it out. If you don't have friends? Well then, I still say buy it if you can afford it! I purchased this bundle on black friday for $250. I think that for a VR headset along with a couple of games, $250 is the perfect price point for me. I would say wait for that sort of price point, or purchase a set like-new set on ebay along with some alcohol wipes. The bundle comes with a ton of cords and a little black box that you have to use as a sort of middle man between your PS4, TV and camera, and it also needs it's own power source. So cords galore! If you're like me, you're gonna wanna try it right away, which means no cord organization AT ALL. The box comes with a gigantic pamphlet with step by step instructions with one step for each page, so if you get anything wrong, you have noone to blame but yourself. The experience itself is amazing! I bought this basically to try out Beat Saber. I love rhythm games. Played DDR, Parappa The Rapper, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Osu, etc... and with all the hype Beat Saber was getting, I knew I had to play and own it at some point. And when I first tried it out, every thought of mine that told me that VR was a fad, or VR was a phase, faded out of existence. This game told me that there are games that would only be fun in VR, and that certain games could only exist in VR. Beat Saber might not be the game for you, but I think there is definitely a game out there that will give you a similar feeling. I've tried a few other things, like watching 3D movies and regular movies as if I were watching it in a theater, but none of those really give me that same wow-factor. If you go off on your own experience with VR, you'll likely encounter a ton of things that give you the impression that VR really is still in it's infancy. I've gotten dizzy from movies and games that just... didn't feel right. Screen-door effect is real, and when the headset gets completely dark, I occasionally see the screen-door to hell, and I have no idea what to focus on. But all of these faults tell me that VR is still in it's infancy and has a ton of room to improve and get better. At the end of the day, VR is an experience. So if you're the type of person that would spend a few hundred to travel somewhere new or spend a couple hundred bucks to eat a fat tomahawk steak JUST for the experience, then why not give VR a shot as well?

Pretty Awesome
So, yeah, it's kinda gimmicky, and there are limited options for VR games on the PS4, but this bundle comes with a few of the best. Blood & Truth in particular provided tons of fun, and I also got a few others like resident evil 7 VR, that kept me entertained for hours. I heard there's also a way to use it with pc games on steam, and although i haven't tried it, it could be a big plus for anyone with a large steam library. The headset itself is pretty good in terms of performance. I've used some other VR headsets, particularly from the Occulus Rift lineup, and I didn't feel a big difference. Also, it just looks so stylish with its sleek design. Definitely worth considering if you love VR gaming and have a PS4.

Affordable VR headset works well for most users
Playstation VR is a decent product and especially when it is discounted, it is the lowest price way to get into VR. It fills that niche nicely. It's kind of amazing going from no VR experience or something like Google Cardboard to this but if you are coming from the HTC Vive or similar higher end headsets there are trade-offs made. You get less of the screen door effect but this is a lower resolution rendering and grain is more apparent. I'd recommend it as a VR experience but I am also excited to see a future product with improved resolution and clarity. The motion controllers work but they are prone to interference and feel very dated compared to the other Playstation 4 hardware and the headset. They mostly work quite well but I found it really depended on lighting and camera placement to get a reliable experience. As for the games included in this bundle, I'd recommend a different bundle. Blood + Truth has required multiple restarts to continue due to game breaking bugs, which really does not help with the immersion. I've only played about an hour but I spent most of that time closing the application and redoing things in order to continue. Maybe with some bug fixes would be fun but it's too buggy to really play as of the 1.03 update. Everybody's Golf is fine and plays relatively well but I think it's held back by the limited precision of the decade old motion controller design. Calibration is frequent or things begin to feel lopsided and shots become disorienting. If you like golf you'll probably like it but as a non-golf-interested player I enjoyed a few courses and then haven't felt like returning.

Fun experience for all. Easily adjusts, met expectations!
The games list is huge and getting larger every week, just check out an in depth review. The picture quality isn't what your expecting if you want a crisp image imediately, it takes a bit to get it set in a way that feels good and looks right. But keep trying and you wont be disappointed. I'm 6'7 and the width of my eyes are wider than the 3 inch maximum lense distance bit I'm still able to extend, contract, raise lower, tilt, and tighten the headset into a position that lines up with a clear image. I sat my mom down and handed her the headset, she is not at all technologically inclined, but after helping her with the distance, she had it in position almost imediately, my brother aswell took only 10 seconds or so. (Hes worn it with contacts and glasses, definitely glasses are better for near sighted people) Imersive experience even being able to see under the bottom of the set if o have it away more, even more so when I move my in game/ actual hand up and it matched with my wrist lol. There is a large variety of sitting and standing games, psvr withoutparole on YT is great for suggestions. Also being so tall I have the camera raised to about 7 and a half feet so I can aim up in front of me while tracking correctly. Before playing in certain lighting set the tracking on the move or aim controllers in case the light change is too drastic, takes 30 seconds once adept. The cord for the camera is only about 6 feet so ensure you have the distance/ set up space to put it where you need to. The lightnig isn't a hard thing to deal with either, just reflections and back lighting from windows. Its it's in budget, a must have with a ps4pro. Additional storage will be needed for games in general. -Gamereaper740

Blood & Truth is everything I hoped PSVR would bring
TLDR; if you want a good VR shooter that let's you use go wild with action and great shooting, look no further. Comes with a disc copy of Blood & Truth, a card with a code to redeem the golf game, two Move controllers, your PS4 camera, and the PSVR. Blood & Truth was an amazing experience. I died a lot, but I was bad. It took me a while before I stopped treating this like a regular shooter and started treating it like a proper VR shooter. I would duck, I would lean, I'd blind fire and spray but I'd also slow down and aim down sights. Once I got the hang of combat (near the end of the game), I felt like a proper badass. The game kicks in some great music and intensity at the perfect moments. You get very immersed. But you need some VR experience before it all clicks. It takes some time for your brain and eyes to start connecting with the VR. At first, you may feel dizzy, unfocused, and your aim sucks. But once you start to think less about gestures and commands and simply think "I'm going to grab the gun off my back" it all clicks. Once you're at that point, where you can aim and shoot without having to think about it all, you start to get all that this game has to experience. I am now going to replay the story after spending some time doing the side challenges.
