Great traction for safety on the ICE!
Saved us when the ICE storm rolled through TN two weeks ago... literally ordered them a couple days before and they arrived the Friday before the storm! So thankful!!! My husband had slipped on the deck stairs as it LOOKED like water/rain NOT ICE but it was ICE! Just 3 steps but he went down. Thankfully not hurt. These arrived for both of us and he was saying WOW...these are GREAT!!! My Nephew in VA had told me about these and I forgot to order them...literally popped back into my mind of things to do, like 2 days before the storm and i was grateful they arrived the day before it hit us! We could NOT walk outside our house it was so icy EVERYWHERE...front walkway, outside garage doors, outside both back doors... crazy! OK... specs: we ordered according our shoe size. I wear an 8 got the size in the chart that would best fit. Right out of the box, they are easy to figure out...toe in first, then heel and I even walked gently on our real wood floors without any issues, no marks, nothing. I wore these when we went out to dinner and on areas without any ice/snow and it didn't hurt them. They are light weight and easy to put on and take off. Ease of walking is great along with traction and gripping ice well. Didn't seem to show any signs of rust when left to dry. There's instructions stating that if they tend to come loose, to just pinch the connecting points together on the bottom. I haven't noticed any issues so far. Now that are made of some type of rubber, so will they rot and fall apart eventually...possibly but for the price, you can't beat these. I chose these because of what my Nephew had said...although there are other versions or types/brands out there, like ones with circular spikes. Those would probably suit the purpose too but i like that these aren't sharp. HIghly suggest this product! Here's a pic and video of how easy they are to put on and still fit really tight. I never had an issue with them coming off. Here, this video shows me putting one on with one hand!

This product really works (and can save a nasty fall on ice!)
I was a skeptic about this product until I saw a U-tube video of a guy who slipped on ice and then put these on and had perfect traction. It looked too good to be true. However, my wife had just fallen on ice and broken her ankle so I figured thee might save my butt if they worked. I can now report that these work VERY well and everyone who lives in a place where ice can be a risk should have a pair of these in their house and in their car. Check the item specifications when ordering in order to get the right size. I wear a size 9 shoe and the "small" size just barely fits my shoes. I would get a medium sized pair next time to make it easier to take these on or off. Truly miraculous what these will do to in dangerous icy conditions. Everyone should probably have a set, just in case. Buying a set of these (for $30) could have saved my wife a surgery, a one week hospital stay and weeks of rehab. Live and learn!

Easy and safe to walk in the snow and ice
Perfect for snow and ice. No problem walking hiking trails after 5 inches of snow the day before. First time putting on the shoe is a bit tough, need to pull tight to grip the shoe. It was easy after it was worn in.

Great for winter walks
These were a game changer for my winter dog walks. They have great traction on the shoulder of the road where it is still icy. Moved from ice to snow to bare road with ease. They did get caught on the carpet and broke easily. I would still but then again!

A low cost, simple solution that works extremely well.
The Yaktrax work very well, they are small enough I can put them in a pocket, they are easy to put on when needed. We had a 1/2 a foot of snow fall, then 1/2 a foot of sleet fall on top of it, with the day time sun the surface of the snow became ice. I had bought these a couple years ago to have in this scenario. WIth the YakTrax on I had no concerns traversing the backwoods with iced surfaces, I walked down and up steep slopes, crossed frozen creeks with confidence, it's actually quite impressive how much traction these things manage where you'd think it wouldn't be possible. If you start breaking through crusty snow be aware they may get pulled off your feet. I've thought of wrapping bright tape around the toe strap so that they are always visible and easier to find.

Yaktrax are great, almost like wearing tire chains!
Love these, they were a lifesaver by helping me avoid falls walking my dog during the aftermath of our harsh icy winter storm. Of course avoid damage and do not wear them walking on inside floors. For safety, take only the necessary steps on garage floors or cleared concrete as they can be slippery, especially after the Yaktrax are packed with snow. They are for walking on ice & snow. These Yaktrax were a tremendous safety improvement for me.

Super happy with this purchase!
I purchased a set of these as I am an avid walker. After having surgery on a broken patella (kneecap) and living in the Midwest I wanted to be sure to minimize and slips/falls in the winter. These are fantastic. We tend to get heavy snowfalls in Wisconsin and I don't let that keep me from taking my two pups for a walk every morning. This morning was 8 degrees the roads and sidewalks were icy, I feel very confident walking with these on. They are easy to get on and off. Before these I had the spike type and with those found keeping them in the house rather than the cold garage made them easier to get on (rubber warm and more pliable), so this is what I do with these. One thing, this morning I noticed one of the coils was coming off, so I simply twisted it back into place and I was good to go, so no concerns thus far. I walk every day about 45min-hour and have been using these for about three weeks. I would recommend these, so much I purchased another set for a backup.

Works great.. as long as it stays on
I want to start this by saying the yaktrax themselves work PERFECTLY. No slipping on ice, I can walk with full confidence. Five stars for functionality. The problem is that today, at some point on the 15 minute walk from the train station to my workplace after it snowed ten inches yesterday and the plows had piled it all up in the crosswalks, the left one vanished. I didn't realize it until I arrived at work so it's gone forever - I retraced my steps after work hoping I might find it but no dice in all the snow. Extra frustrating because the whole reason I wore them is because while there was some morning ice, I knew the ice would be way worse tonight after the sun shone on half shoveled sidewalks for a few hours, so my trip home was more perilous. I'm always VERY sure to pull them on securely before leaving the house with them on, so either it was yanked off my foot when I pulled it up through the snow or it broke and came off. Either way that is a product defect, it should not be able to come off like that if put on properly and it definitely should not be breaking. I bought these last February and have only needed them a small number of times since then, they absolutely should not be stretched out or falling apart. The one on my right foot that I still have looks totally fine, no visible wear or looseness, so who knows. Even though it seems fine, I'm needing to buy a new pair since I don't think it's possible to buy just one, and I am feeling mistrustful of the remaining one. They work so well that I'm getting a replacement pair but I'm gonna be pretty upset if the same thing happens again!
