Very good tool box very spacious and tough

This is great tool chest. I anchored it into concrete (each foot has 2 anchor points) as I have a lot of expensive wood working tools that I want to protect should someone make entry in my shop. The quality is very good, the lid is heavy but with the pistons it definitely helps with opening and closing. My only complaint is the way the padlock is used but this seems to be a consistent design on many jobsite boxes to protect the shackle from attack. I would prefer to see something more like on a shipping container with a welded steel sheath that still allows for some movement of the actual lock. All in all though I am very happy with the purchase.

Arrived as promised but a couple dents from handing and shipping, which no big deal since it will get banged up and scratched when used. Not worth the hassle to return it for a minor dent. Huge chest, store lots of stuff. Recommend getting set of quality casters (in appropriate weight rating) and installing otherwise you will need a forklift when loaded or at least four people to move it. Obviously, casters would be useless on a job site where no hard, level surface present. To attach casters will need sixteen 3/8-16x1" carriage bolts 3/8x1" fender washers, and 3/8-16 nyloc nuts. Why 4-stars? Knaack provides their own proprietary lock to lock he chest and *is not* included. According to Knaack, Amazon *is not* an authorized reseller, thus will not provide their lock. Instead, you will need to obtain a Master Lock #5 (or American lock #50) with 1-inch shank for chest to properly lock. Install video online but don't be baffled if the locking rod is not captured within the lock's shank. When lock is closed, the rod is prevented from unlatching by striking the lock body.

The instructions I read on Amazon.com said you can use master lock no. 5. That’s what I bought. I watched the video on knaack.com about half a dozen times. I followed those instructions. But now the lock is unlocked but it’s not moving far enough for the latch to open. I thought I practiced enough due diligence, but now the latch is stuck in the latched position. Customer support said I had the wrong lock, although I did buy a master lock no.5. WTF??? She said I have to drill into the lock keyhole to get it out, or call a locksmith at my expense. I thought I had the right lock because it’s a master lock no. 5. But apparently I had the wrong master lock no. 5! And that’s my fault?! All she told me was to email them and plead my case! No other phone number I can call! Seller are you reading this? I thought I practiced enough due diligence when I bought a master lock no. 5 and used your video! I called customer support at knaack before I ordered the lock. He just said master lock no. 5. He didn’t say master lock 5T.

The Knaack 60” Job box is a well built box. The master lock 5T installed easily and secured tools and the box contents no problems. Highly recommended.

I have other brand name boxes. I paid the extra money for this one as it is mounted where I don't want to replace it for many years. There IS a big difference in the quality of these job boxes. If you intend to keep the box for more than a few years go with KNAACK. They have a stronger design. They also have more durable finishes. Others are simply painted. These are powder coated. I live on the coast and powder coating has proven to be the best solution over many years.
