This comb is the answer for lice.
If you are looking up this product please accept my condolences. If you or anyone in your family have lice you need this comb. Period. I've got over a year and a half of unwanted experience in the lice department. Lots of mistakes but I finally got it right. Here is how I got finally got rid of the lice. You can stop after this one word: Combing. In the past I used brand name and generic Rid. Rid gives you a false sense that the bugs and nit eggs are dead, retreat in 10 days and all will be good. Not true. I will not use Rid ever again, save your money. The key to lice is combing, not the product. I will use Cetaphil or another easy to wash out substance if we ever get lice again. I normally lean towards natural products but when it comes to lice my thought is "KILL-KILL-KILL!" so pesticides is what I did. Come to learn the hard way after a long time, the pesticides do not work. You may think they work but they don't. The key to the whole lice thing is combing. You can use an array of products but, I'll shout it from the mountain top, the key is combing. Upon discovery of lice is to make the live crawling bugs immobile so you can comb them out. If I'm already dealing with bugs I don't want to deal with kids and greasy hair so I will probably not use a greasy product although if it's 9:30pm when I find them and I'm low on Cetaphil, you can bet I will dump mayonnaise on their heads. My kids don't want to go to school with knowing they had lice and now have greasy hair. Lice was very embarrassing for all of us. While combing I dunked the metal tines into boiling hot water in a bowl after every single pass through a tiny section of hair. This part took forever and I had to change the water frequently and use a toothbrush every so often to OCD get the eggs out from between the metal tines but the comb is the answer, this is what actually works. This comb does not pull the hair out. It passes easily through the hair but captures eggs with the tines. I even did my own hair easily. The kids did not complain at all while I combed. I'd always used the one that came with the kits which you should just throw them away. Since it's easier to use this comb it's also faster which makes everyone happy. After combing out the bugs, I combed our hair daily using a homemade Tea Tree Oil and water spray, dunking the comb back in boiling water after every pass until I found no eggs in the water for 3 days in a row, then I repeated it again every few days for a month! This may sound obsessive but if you know what we have been through I was OVER getting lice. It gets easier as you do this so it becomes less time consuming. I could do my long hair daughter, son and myself with shoulder length hair in about :30-:35 minutes. Lice is a problem you have to stay on top of. Do not treat and think you got them all. You haven't. I went the complete lifecycle which can be 30 or so days. You want to get rid of the live bugs currently laying eggs and get rid of the eggs attached to the hair shaft before they hatch. If you miss eggs and they hatch, it's ok you have 10 days (I erred from 7-12 days) to get the bug before they mature and begin to lay eggs. This is why the retreat is around 10 days after the first treatment. Make sense? How do you get rid of the bugs and eggs? Once again: Combing. It's not the products you put on the hair, it's the combing, combing combing. I made my mistake by stopping at the 10 day retreat trusting the product and the cheap plastic comb worked. I ordered this comb with Prime and received it on day 3 after I had combed each day with the plastic comb. I was amazed by the amount of live nits (the black ones, not the already hatched ones) this comb pulled out. I wish someone had told me about this comb the very first time we got lice. It's hard preventing lice but this comb makes it much easier getting rid of them. My backstory: We got lice near the end of 2nd grade. We, meaning my daughter got it and passed it to little brother and to me. My husband uses a sticky hair product so, of course, he was lucky enough to never get them during this whole terrible experience. I used Rid everytime to kill the lice and the plastic cheap comb to get the nits out. The cheap plastic comb pulls hair out, kids get upset, get very angry, it hurts them and doesn't get all the nits. I bought a metal comb in a kit but it pulled worse than the plastic one. 10 days later I would repeat the Rid, do another comb through and called it a successful eradication......until 4-6 weeks later when we would have another outbreak. I am a full time working mom so it seems that I blink and weeks go by. I didn't put 2 & 2 together to realize we were never actually getting 100% clear of them. I think I'm pretty on top of things but I wish I had one spot to go to find out all this information on lice. Websites are either trying to sell me an expensive product or it's either the natural way to smother them with mayo or Cetaphil and then there is the bad mom who use pesticides (you know which one I fell into). After multiple infestations I didn't care about natural, I just want them dead so I stayed with pesticides and my cheap comb. I read about lice being resistant to pesticide but I didn't think that would be us until I found live bugs still after treatment so that is very true, it happened to us. The reviews on this comb actually offered me the most advice in one spot. From September to April this school year we battled lice. In November, after 2 outbreaks, we took the kids to the ladies who get rid of lice as their job. That treatment and the 10 day follow up was $400ish. End of December we had another outbreak although they were declared lice free from the people I paid money too. January, March and April we got lice again. It didn't dawn on me to keep track of the lifecycle timeline (I don't have time to anyway!) so I didn't realize that I was not breaking the lifecycle with completely getting rid of all the eggs. I kept blaming other kids in the class. I was OVER all this in April when I found them at 9:30pm when we were already way past bedtime on a school night. After I poured a big glass of wine, I got the iPad, put on Netflix, go again with my pesticide Rid routine while husband washes all the sheets, quarantines stuffed animals, pillows, etc. The next morning I found live bugs in their hair. The pesticide didn't work! That brought me to this comb. There had to be something better. I followed everything I explained, using an essential oil blend of Tea Tree, geranium, lavender mix in water in a spray bottle. They get sprayed every morning now with the essential oil. Thanks for reading my long review, it's more of a what worked for me and it starts with this comb. I also think the oil blend spray will help deter them.

This Comb Is The Answer!!!
This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review for anything and I buy lots of items from Amazon. My daughter came home from a summer visit at her father's infested with lice. I thought it would be simple to get rid of. No clothes were allowed inside until washed. I treated her head with lice treatment. I spent two days picking out bugs and nits. One day at hotel and one at home. I colored her hair. All this before she was allowed into her bedroom. I know I spent over 12 hours straight combing through her hair and hand picking out bugs and nits. I have never seen anything like her infestation before. After having live bugs still running away from me after the lice treatment, I read all I could on the internet for other treatments. Mayo. Listerine. Olive Oil. Tree Tea Oil. Peppermint Shampoo. Tree Tea shampoo. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to get rid of these things. They all seemed to work to a certain degree, but not totally. I still combed nits out daily. You have to understand, when she first came home, she had 2 or 3 nits on what seemed like EVERY hair on her head. After 2 months my daughter's hair was prettier then it had ever been...although shorter to be sure! But I still found nits and bugs on occasion. I was at wit's end and shared many tears of frustration with my daughter. Who at no fault of her own felt so bad that she had these nasty creatures in her hair. Never have I been so frustrated or angry. I hated those little bugs!!!! Then I gave up and said ok, I'll try the stupid comb. What's 20 more bucks gonna hurt? The first night I combed though her hair and couldn't believe the stuff it pulled out. I had just dyed her hair (yet again) to try to kill off the little buggers, and I know I combed out over a dozen of them. Not to mention the nits. And other gunk, that I knew must be dead bugs and waste from these things. And to look at her hair, it appeared so clean!!! at the same time of being totally disgusted with what I was combing out, I was excited too! Was it going to work? day two, I combed again and got maybe 6 to 12 more bugs. Day 3...I'm down to only being able to find 4 bugs. Day 4 I had no bugs. Day 5 still nothing! She truly is lice free. I can't express enough how wonderful this comb is. I comb once a week now just so we never EVER have to go though this again. I truly don't understand why I had to go online to find this comb. No where in my town was it offered. Only the WORTHLESS over the counter USELESS chemicals that didn't WORK!!!! If you really want to get rid of lice in schools, this should be available everywhere. I hope just one person reads this, tries the comb and passes on what they learned. It really does make a difference and can save hundreds of dollars. Not to mention relieving the stress and frustration of parents everywhere...

Makes a world of difference in clearing head lice!
I was lucky enough to get to treat my daughter for lice twice this summer! The first time, I did not have this nit come. The second time, I did. The difference, night and day! The comb that comes with the over the counter treatments didn't do much. This thing.... It was AMAZING! While I hope I don't have to ever use it again, I know I won't ever do a treatment again without it!

PLEASE READ IF YOU'VE TRIED EVERY OTHER MEATHOD AND NOTHING'S WORKED BECAUSE THIS WILL!!!
Here's my horror story: After a "super-lice"ยน outbreak at my daughter's school, and my daughter catching it, we spent a lot of money and time on so many different products to rid her of this horrible pest. We bought almost every type of over-the-counter lice treatment (most of which had a "lice and nit comb" include). My daughter has very long and THICK hair. The lice/nit combs included in the kits were almost always plastic, and even if they were metal, they were still very cheaply made. Needless to say, each and every one of them broke upon first use. So then I went to our local beauty store and bought a $10 lice comb they had that looked more sturdy and had the prongs very close to each other (so it'd hopefully pick up everything). Problem was, they would not glide through my daughter's thick hair, not even in small sections with lot of conditioner. By this point we are months into the process and while she'd be good for a few days, it only took a week or so and she was infested again. I was at my wits end and started to worry about all the chemicals being continuously used on her (not to mention the damage it was doing to her hair). I started doing the natural coconut oil and tee tea oil remedy (Google it if you want directions). It worked great and the time between infestations was longer, but she still had them coming back. After a lot of research I realized she's not re-catching the lice, but that all these methods just killed the actual full grown or baby lice, not necessarily the eggs, and those stupid cheap combs included weren't pulling them out. So we were killing most the lice, but week or two later when those tiny eggs hatched we had an infestation again. I ordered this comb based off reviews and having tried basically everything else. I was hesitant that this comb would be like the one I purchased at the beauty store and not comb through her hair, but just get stuck and yank out her hair. HOWEVER, once I got it, I ran it through her DRY hair and it ran through smoothly, which was a surprise considering how close each prong was to another. So I was very hopefully. I then did the apple cider, coconut oil, and tea tree oil method (Google for directions, the apple cider loosens the "glue" type substance on the eggs). I then used this comb to go through her coconut oiled hair and not only did it glide through smoothly not matter what angle I was combing from (down, right, left, up) but it caught the eggs, nits, and tiniest, newly hatched baby lice (we're talking so small I could only tell they were there by wiping on paper towel and using magnifying glass). I also made sure to start at the very root of her since the eggs attach near scalp. It was amazing (and gross) what this comb took out. I let the oil treatment sit over night (as recommend, and btw coconut oil is an amazing conditioning treatment for hair), and did one more combing in morning, althought there wasn't much left after first combing. It has been months now and she's FINALLY lice free with no re-infestation since the treatment using this comb! God, what a relief!!! What I realize is, all other combs weren't simply catching all the eggs/nits/tiny newly hatched lice, which was the problem. No matter what treatment you decided to use (although I suggest all natural) a very thorough combing to catch the eggs/nits is crucial! And this comb is the only one that works at grabbing and taking out everything, hence you won't then have future breakout in week or two. Don't waste your time and money with any other combs, they aren't designed like this one! I wish I would have used this one in the first place. Would've saved a lot of money, stress, time, and my child suffering. I can see why the professional lice/nit removal places that charge $$$ use this product. A+ review from me!

Will break some strands of hair but WORKS!
This comb WORKS! I will say, it breaks and pulls some hair out, so be prepared for that. But, it removes every nit. We used this in combination with RID Super Max pesticide free lice treatment. We followed the instructions on the box for the treatment followed combing with this comb. We treated immediately after finding nits, combed the day of treatment, and then combed every other day until day 10 when we treated again followed by one last comb. We also bagged and or/wash and dried EVERYTHING that my daughter touched, as well as thoroughly vacuumed anywhere my daughter sat/hung out. This comb is a bit difficult to clean due to how close together the teeth are but I discovered that Dawn dish spray plus an old electric toothbrush cleaned it right up. I HIGHLY recommend this comb! The hair breakage and the few strands that were pulled out are exponentially outweighed by the results!

Effective comb however it damages the hair
Bought this comb to rid my child of the super lice she somehow picked up. The new breed of lice are called super lice because they've built up a resistance to over the counter treatments (Rid X and Nix). I didn't want to use anything harsh on my child's scalp. I mean pesticides being absorbed into my child's skin? No thank you! I washed the hair and towel dried it. I then added conditioner and used a wide toothe comb first to comb out any tangles in the hair. I then parted the hair into four sections and used this comb to remove the dead/ alive lice and the Nits. The hair was drying faster than I was combing so I rinsed the hair of the conditioner towel dried it and used coconut oil instead. It was AMAZING! The oil softened the hair and kept the hair moist throughout the de- licing process. This comb is the best out there. It does remove roughly 98% of the Nits and lice however it does tend to tear out a few strands of hair 3-5 average and it does tend to cut through strands causing split ends. The Nits cling to the hair LIKE GLUE! My child's hair was saturated with coconut oil. I left it in, allowed the hair to air dry and then grabbed my flat iron to finish the process. It's been 3 weeks now and I can breathe easier. No lice! A couple Nits are still in the hair however (the ones I've been struggling to remove since day 1) and I have been applying coconut oil and using my fingers to slowly pull them out. If you're child has a ton of lice and Nits buy this comb and use it. It's worth the sacrifice of a few strands :) Good luck! They are tough little suckers.

The answer, at last
I tried, on my lice infected eight year-old, in order: 1) "Rid" toxic chemicals (using their cheap plastic comb, I was combing out live lice for an hour) 2) Tea tree oil (much better - after leaving the conditioner in for an hour - anything I combed out was dead) 3) Neem oil (used it on myself as a preventive, only once, and combed out a couple of dead, dead lice. But the stuff stinks to high heaven) 4) Robi electric louse zapper comb, with its high pitched tone that went satisfyingly silent whenever a louse was lodged in its teeth. Seemed like an excellent device at the time! But did not get any of the fine little sticky nits. The hundreds of fine little sticky little teeny nits. 4) Fingers, trying to pull out individual nits out of the hundreds of fine little sticky little teeny nits. Did not work so well on her fine hair. She said "ow" after about ten. I stopped. 5) Figuring that the little plastic comb that came with the Rid was a piece of junk which was hurting her scalp, I reasoned, why not get her a "comfortable" better quality comb, and so purchased the Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb. What an eye-opener!! It wasn't just more comfortable, it actually got the little minute nits out! Hundreds with one swipe!! Even on dry hair! Out came the nits, in stayed the hair! It's an absolute miracle. No, not a miracle. Just brilliant. If I had to do it all over again, here's what I would do: 1) Stay clear of the chemical Rid junk, which has been proven less effective than tea tree oil and which is really really toxic. (Now I feel guilty for rushing to it!) 2) Start instead with tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner (with about a bit of extra pure tea tree oil added - 10 percent tea tree oil kills everything) available at Whole Foods, Central Market, Vitamin Shoppe - check the health food places near you. Leave in for 15-20 minutes. 3) Then rinse and use the best, most comfortable, nicest smelling detangling conditioner and, with it still in the hair, set child up in front of movie and use the Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb to take everything out -- easily and efficiently! Wipe each comb-full with TP and flush away, forever. 4) Comb with Nit Free Terminator Lice Comb morning and night for a week (after the first time, you can use it on dry hair, no prob). It is comfortable and takes no time. By that time, any remaining lice are dead anyhow. You just want to make sure you've gotten every nit. (I had a magnifying glass on hand from the beginning, which is how I identified lice to begin with. The difference between the lice and the nits is that the lice have little legs and a flat banded body, while the lice are more like little blobs with a long part that was attached to the hair, but very teeny dead lice look something like nits. Can you tell I've spent a while with this?) 5) Don't freak out about cleaning the house (I even bought a new fabulous powerful vacuum, which I love, but it wasn't necessary, since lice only live 24 hours off the scalp. They'll die on their own. It's not like fleas); however, 6) DO put the bed sheets through a HOT DRYER for 20 minutes every morning, just to kill any EGGS which MIGHT might have been laid. If you do this, then, presto. Problem gone.

Excellent Comb
Canโt recommend this brush enough. We started with the comb that came with the treatment products and the gaps were so wide they wouldnโt pull eggs out of the hair. I was picking them out with my nails by hand. Then this brush. Holy cow did it do the trick. They came out with every swipe. Highly recommend.

Best comb on the market
Nothing compares to the Nit Free Terminator comb for complete eradication of head lice and their eggs. Use with conditioner as the teeth of the comb are very tightly set. Wipe on a paper towel every few passes and you will see the results of using this comb!
