Very intuitive and fun but WARN YOUR IMPATIENT KIDS
It's difficult to learn quickly 'cause it's so intuitive so warn your impatient kids! I'm 31 and play online against my 40 year old friend. We have a great time. His son, however, gets mad all of the time. He doesn't have the patience to understand the controls and that you can't run as fast as possible and cut left or right then kick a straight shot on goal 30 yards out!! The realism is where it loses him! haha He's about 10. Call me crazy, but I actually enjoy and appreciate the fact that you can't kick the ball straight when your player is cutting or turning. In other words, it's realistic! Not every shot goes in the goal from mid-field. I play real soccer 2-3 times per week and can appreciate this. I can see where this game would be frustrating to those who have no patience. The one thing I like also is that the computer doesn't always overcompensate for players who are down or behind. I've noticed on some football games (not futbol) the computer overcompensates. What I mean is when you're ahead all of the sudden your awesome quarterback starts throwing interceptions and your star running back fumbles the ball. In FIFA I still see a little odd compensation here and there but nothing as annoying as the EA Football games. The training sessions and such are fun too. First soccer game I ever bought - I'm more of a first person shooter on PC type... but this is fun on Xbox!

This game is crack.
I am a first time FIFA player on XBOX, I got this game as a "in-betweener" when other games weren't out and I needed something to play around with. Then I started playing FIFA13 and found out it is super addicting and I would be shunnning other gamesto build my soccer career. If you are a first time player, you'll want to spend a lot of time getting a feel for the controls of the game. Speed and power depend on how long you hold down buttons and you don't want to overshoot the goal all the time. There are a ton of combinations for special moves, bending shots, etc. that also take time to get the hang of. Actual games seem to be the easiest part, especially if you control the whole team. I have just scratched the surface of player management and carerr modes and I don't even know what playing online against others would be like. I can tell you the game is not multi-player centric, I've played hours and hours on single player mode and have no complaints about playability or value for my money. I totally recommend this game for anyone interested in a good soccer game.

Solid 4 1/2 Star Effort
In what is increasingly becoming the trend with the latest editions of EA titles, how you rate the game is mainly going to be predicated on the type of player you are. For example those who play FIFA predominately online are obviously going to have a different perspective then those who play in career mode. For the purpose of transparency I play this game in career mode about 75% of the time the other 25% I play online. With that in mind onward to my thoughts on this game + The menus are relatively easy to navigate through - The music is mainly comprised of Euro trash....do yourself a favor and go into the settings and manually mute all of the songs, you'll thank me later. + It's obvious that EA has made an effort at delivering the most authentic footballing experience possible, there is a sense of more realism in playing perhaps more so than I've ever experienced in previous FIFA titles. For example, the ball reacts more realistically to touches, dribbles etc. I'm going to give EA credit for incorporating this in the game as they pull off this new feature of the game perfectly. + The in game commentary, although not always perfect-is far superior in comparison to any other EA sports game in this year's lineup. The commentators react seamlessly and fluidly as their real-life commentators would in critiquing shots on goals, interceptions, tackles, etc. Although this seems basic, many of EA's other sports games commentary teams are absolutely pathetic-see NHL 13 if you need a reference. Neutral: Graphically the game is on par with what you would expect from a current gen sports game. In my opinion I honestly can't tell much of a difference in terms of any graphical improvements between this game and FIFA 12 or even 11 for that matter. Off the pitch by the way, the fans in the stands are an incredible EYESORE!! Otherwise, you'll notice in this installment there are a lot more cut scenes throughout the game. Honestly I find this to be a bit of an annoyance, when a substitution is made in career mode, the game automatically cuts to the player being substituted out of the match, the Cam ISO's on him for a good 3-4 seconds not really sure why this is necessary, again minor annoyance. -It would be nice if the game borrowed from the Madden series and show grass stains etc on the kits as it would bring more realism to the game. You aren't going to find a difference on the appearance of the players from kickoff compared to the end of the fixture which is a bit of a disappointment. +The overall presentation/realism of the game is improved, i.e. if you create a player on an elite team its likely that you will be transferred to a smaller club to develop. -While in career mode in between fixtures you'll hear scores from around the league etc. which is nice at first but quickly becomes a great annoyance so much to the degree that you'll be blazing through the appropriate actions in order to press on to the next match. -The developers seem to have only made a half hearted attempt in some areas in terms of giving you with the most realistic experience in career mode. For example the Emails/Notifications you get from the coach are basically a series of heavily recycled messages that you'll get dozens of times throughout the course of the season. Sometimes at the beginning of matches you'll get the cut scene where the starting XI line up as they would in real life however, but NO anthems play, this would have been a perfect opportunity for EA to bring an out of this world sense of realism to the game however instead it leaves you with a plastic experience. These basic omissions give you the overall feeling that the developers tossed this in for the sake of formality. Although I might very well be nitpicking, I feel like if EA isn't going to mirror something EXACTLY as its done in real life then they should refrain from trying to go through the motions and stop wasting our time... +++In terms of overall game play I do not feel as if the game has regressed much the opposite in fact I believe it is more fun than ever! The CPU AI seems to have improved from previous years which is also great. I have played all of EA's lineup this year Madden, NHL and FIFA 13 and FIFA is easily the most superior game out there in comparison to the rest of their sporting lineup. Although the game is not perfect it is obvious that the game has tried creating for you the most authentic football experience possible and while they do come up short in some of the areas, in terms of overall game play the game is simply a blast which makes it easy to forgive some of the game's shortcomings. Overall score 4.5 stars, while the overall gameplay is superior, there is room for improvement in some of the areas.

Favorite FIFA ever
I've always been a huge FIFA fan and a favorite of EA Sports in general. It was natural for me to purchase the new FIFA when it came out and loved getting it delivered by Amazon at the same price it would cost me to drive and get it. The game itself is the best yet from the FIFA line. Fantastic game play and realism combine to create a fantastic experience with TONS of replay value. The career mode is great as usual, but the real value comes from XBOX Live. The season modes, Virtual Pro Seasons, as well as the Ultimate Team mode combine to provide hours and hours of fun and endless relief from boredom. Buy it.

Another year, another great fifa game
Some years have been revolutionary, some years have been evolutionary and for this installment of FIFA13, it is definitely the latter, however that does not make this game any less good. The graphics are nice, the physics are getting better, the tackling mechanism that were choppy in last years game looks better this year. New modes are added to the career with the ability to play for your country or take reign of an international team. FUT got an upgraded layout to make it much more visually appealing while the addictive features remain the same. The only minor gripe about this is that the virtual pro is taken away and while you can create a virtual pro, you cannot use the same virtual pro in all of your game mode. Overall this game got an upgrade in almost every aspect, definitely recommend picking up this game if you're a soccer fan.

This game is no fun. I love playing fifa and have owned several
This game is no fun. I love playing fifa and have owned several, but they ruined it this season. The passing is so inaccurate that you can never piece together an attack. No matter which way you point the control stick, it won't go to your player. I thought I just needed to learn the intricacies of the game, but after close to 50 hours of playing, and the passing is no better. Your players AI is also random and unpredictable. They always zig when you want them to zag, and zag when you want them to zig. If it was consistent, you could learn it, and play that style of game that was created, but it is just bad. It makes the game very random, and no fun. Very frustrating. It made me wish for the days of 8 bit Nintendo games. This was the worst $10 I have ever spent on a video game. This is the first time I have ever felt strongly enough about a product to write a review. I don't usually have strong opinion on products, but that is how bad this game is.
