How does the knife work on squash? Like butternut or acorn

I wouldn’t try it with a butternut squash since even with sweet potatoes, I found it hard to cut through without an extra tap with the palm of my hand on the back of the knife. The knife is sharp and very good for most veggies but for hard type squashes, I use a metal clever and a small rubber hammer.
