Shine N Jam Conditioning Gel Extra Hold 4 Ounce (2 Pack)

Work days in my gym are sweaty and this Shine N Jam gel keeps my staff’s edges from turning into frizz by noon. I grabbed the 2 pack for the break room so trainers can clean up before clients or after a shower. It holds braids and ponytails pretty well and doesn’t flake on the towels, which matters when i’m doing laundry every day. Texture is nice, not too stiff, and the shine looks clean on camera when we film content. My gripe, it builds up faster than i like. If they use it two days straight without washing, the hair starts looking heavy.

This product smells so good! I really like this Shine ’n Jam! It gives my hair a nice hold without making it feel greasy or flaky. It smooths my edges and flyaways really well, and a little goes a long way. I also love that it leaves my hair looking shiny instead of stiff. This gel performs well. It provides strong hold, keeps the hair in place, creates clean parts, and adds noticeable shine, which I appreciate. The challenge is that it appears to trigger allergic reactions for some clients. During appointments, a few experience persistent sneezing, and others report scalp irritation or reactions afterward/contact dermititis. I’ve also noticed occasional sensitivity myself, though it seems inconsistent and may vary by batch. Because of this, I’m actively looking for an alternative that offers the same level of hold and shine without the ingredients that may be causing these reactions. I've attached pictures of one scalp. I forgot to add, for my daughter, it turned her hair from color 2 to color 4. I stopped using it. I now use the African Pride Leave-in conditioner for her hair and her color 2 color has returned.

I purchased this for my son, who is growing his hair out and wearing finger twists, and it has worked really well. He has type 3C hair, and this product does a great job helping to define and hold his twists without making his hair feel overly stiff or flaky. This Extra hold Gel was recommended by my sister in law, who uses it on her daughters with 4C type hair. My daughters have 4B and 3B hair types and this gel works really well to help with hair partinioning and braid preparation. You can see how thick it is in the video. The texture is soft, yet thick and the smell is mild and pleasant. I recommend this product.
