Slight mispronounciation
The book is a great tool for quickly expanding your vocabulary, however the audio version seems to have a few mispronounciations. I've been learning Portuguese since last year and from speaking to other people who speak the language it sounds a little different. Some words are pronounced with a Spanish accent or sound similar "mas" and "mais" sound the same in the audio so if you are just listening it can be a little confusing. I still recommend it because most of the translations are still correct.

Great Book
I am most excited for this book of the Portuguese books I got. My only complaint is in the first 2/3rds of the book there is a vertical line on the right side pages where the printing press didn't have ink on it. It is definitely annoying but it is not so big that you can't figure out the missing letters. Other then the printing press, I have no complaints. It is a massively informative book, and would recommend to anyone wanting to learn Portuguese.

What a great learning tool!
I've learned several languages and having a book of words to learn is very helpful! This one has the common words in usage, 2000 of them. I read a page a day. This is a handy tool for increasing your vocabulary! I've learned Biblical Greek this way and have found it helpful in gaining a useable grasp of Portuguese. I'm using other books and an online course. Hopefully I can use my new talent in Portugal next year.

Confusing pronunciation in Audio book
This is about the audiobook. As a beginner I need consistency. There is a lot of inconsistency in pronunciation of letter "r". In the same word and same r, one time r is pronounced as "h" in hello, the other time like a r in french word "merci", the other time like the r in Portuguese word "vir". Very confusing. Even if all those pronunciations are used around different areas of the country, you should just stick to one correct way of saying it. Its gonna confuse the beginners. You see this specially when r is pronounced as h in the example word, and later as r in "vir" in example sentence following after. Or word 387, correr, the rr is pronounced as r in french merci then in example sentence it is as h in hello. Which one is it? Make up your mind.

Great for beginners/intermediate learners!
The book was very helpful. It helped clear plenty of questions regarding basic uses of words/phrases that I tend to struggle often. I’ve definitely used this book as a great resource and would recommend to anyone starting off their Portuguese journey!

Useful
Studying the words presented in this book will help the Portuguese learner to construct sentences and improve one’s reading skills. I would have liked to see a section that shows the conjugations of verbs in this book.

Good book for studying Portuguese
It’s really nice that this book offers a comprehensive overview of the most commonly used words in context. Really helps with getting a better grasp of the language. The only improvement would be if they showed a bit more on verb conjugations, because with sentences involving verbs you’re kind of thrown into the deep.

Too many spelling mistakes
It's ok. But nothing more than that. I'm fluent in both languages and just bought it as a gift for somebody. Unfortunately there are way too many spelling mistakes. I'd recommend getting something else. It's definitely not a reliable source if you're learning the language with the intent of getting a job or studying in Brazil. But it's ok if that's all your budget allows or if you're learning to speak with friends and family members.

Book of portuguese vocabulary ranked by frequency of use.
Really nice to have the lists of most common words in portuguese so that you can prioritise what to learn. As they say, the first 1000 words covers 76% of all writing and 88% of spoken Portuguese but you need to know what the words are and they aren't always obvious. This book covers the first 2000. Found this book excellent for helping to choose words for my flash card collection. It provides sentence examples but I didn't find these particularly helpful, some are really strange, unecessarily complicated and you would never say in either english or portuguese. But these are just extra if you want the vocabulary list so I'm happy anyway.
