Hynes Eagle Vintage Canvas Backpack Travel Rucksack 19L Black

This is a pretty decent backpack for the price.The quality overall is good (again, for the price); the stitching seems solid and I'm not concerned about it coming undone even under heavy stress. The zippers are not top notch but they work well and I'm not worried about them malfunctioning. I should note that the way they are stitched prevents excess fabric from folding under and getting stuck in the zipper - a nice touch and I'm glad the creators took the time to think about that particular gimmick.Now there are a few things I wish were done differently, in reference to quality/build:1) The leather straps that go across the top of the bag and buckle in the front - actually I'd say this for all the leather pulls, straps on the bag - I wish they were a bit more substantial. I feel like the straps will probably wear out pretty fast; especially if a person were to use this as a book-bag to haul around campus. The leather is pretty thin and while it has some stretch (a good thing to a point) I feel like it's a bit too thin to where it could tear easily.Also, I find it a bit strange that the buckle parts actually come off (held on via snap, but very secure snap though) I don't really see the purpose of this considering the leather straps themselves don't actually come off. You could fold the top flap inside the bag and use the pull-strings to close it, but to me personally it's just a little odd. Not a hit to the product's value or quality, just my opinion.2) I wish the inside of the laptop sleeve was a softer material. Now the inside of the bag (pockets 'n all) are a softer material than the outside of the bag however I would have liked the laptop compartment specifically to have an even softer material - even if it meant that layering the softer material overtop of the existing material would result in the pocket being a bit thicker.I do like that the laptop pocket has an elastic band to keep your precious laptop from sliding out of place - a nice touch.Overall you're getting a pretty good backpack, for the price. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say the price is below what I would expect for this bag were I to see it in person and not know the price.Decent quality, good storage and a nice subtle urban style.Cheers!

There are definitely pros and cons to this backpack. I love the style, even though my fiance called it "hipster" (ew.). I was so tired of carrying around a shoulder purse and having my back always hurt, so I wanted a daily backpack that's not too big or too small. The size is perfect for running errands and going to work. Everything I might need fits inside, plus it's comfortable to wear. There's plenty of outer and inner pockets to organize smaller items. The zippers make me a little nervous sometimes because they tend to stick, so I worry about them breaking. When it arrived, a few of them were actually split open in the middle. Not very reassuring.... So far they've held, and I've been using it daily for a few weeks. One of the major downsides (in my opinion) is the fact that it's not water-resistant in any way. My water bottle leaked inside, and it took about two days to dry out. It had soaked through the inner pouches and everything, even getting my iPod and notebooks damp. It also has a tendency to hold onto dirt and leaves if you set it on the ground. I would NOT recommend taking this camping, or if you are expecting it to rain. It will get soaked, and probably all your belongings will too.

I've had this backpack for over a week, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase so far! The canvas is thick and seems well-reinforced, and the leather straps are attractive and sturdy. The shoulder straps are comfortable, and, while they are easy to adjust, they don't slip, either. There are plenty of storage options in different types of pockets. On a daily basis, I carry a tablet, tablet keyboard, folder, notebook, water bottle, planner, pencil pouch, and a variety of other necessities for class and work (I'm a graduate student). However, most impressively, I can also fit my behemoth of a laptop and its charging cord in addition to my daily haul, when needed (for reference, it's a 17.8" 2009 HP laptop, so fitting it into ANY normal backpack is really quite a feat that I never expected). The "laptop pocket" in the back of the main compartment seems like it would fit a standard 15" or so laptop, and it's great if you're like me and mostly use a tablet for portable use. I hope to use this backpack for everything for years to come. :)

This bag is perfect. My wife had been wanting one for a while and we just hadn't found the right one that was cute, durable and had the right amount of pockets. I bought this one as a valentines gift planning to use it as a picnic carrier after she got it and it had plenty of space, and was a great size. When she opened it she instantly loved how it looked. The look wasn't the best part though. She would have been happy if it looked great even if the quality wasn't amazing but as for me, if I get something, I want quality over design but both preferred and that is what we got here. There are pockets in clever spots and the fabric and zippers are sturdy. The latches are snap which is also a plus because its quick to open and close. Overall this bag was a great purchase.

This is nice bag. I like the size and the details. The canvas is very sturdy and the leather straps are nice and thick. If I had paid $120 for it, I would want the stitching to be doubled up and more precise. The drawstring at the top is baffling to me and the snaps on the flap don't look like they will hold up under stress (which I will avoid).My old bag is a bit smaller, all leather, plastic zippers, nice clasps on the front pocket that are very secure. Haven't been able to find another like it. This Hynes Eagle is a good backup.

I love it! i woud have preferred it to be just a tiny bit bigger so i could comfortably fit my lunch iin there. And longer, better zippers for the pockets on the outside so i can actually grab my belongings. i have average sized hands and it is hard to grab my things because the zipper space is a bit small. i love the overall look but i hate how easy it is for lint to stick to it. With that being said, you get what you paid for and this deff still deserves 4 stars.

Bought for my girlfriend as an early Christmas gift, she loves it, she says it's a little to rigid and has an odor but I think it smells like canvas and it looks durable. Bought it on sale for $50, wouldn't really pay much more for it and would not buy at full price of $135

Very good quality and I would recommend this pack sack to everyone. The price is better than any other bag I looked for in stores. It is even very reasonable considering the price and quality.

Exactly as expected. Good solid canvas construction. A bit of a retro look...as I wanted. All around happy with this purchase. Delivered super fast with standard shipping.

I thought that the product would be a lower quality but I was pleasantly surprised that it seems very sturdy (thus far). It has lots of pockets for organizing your things and is much larger than I expected as well. Great fashionable choice for a student like myself.
