You can buy big dutch ovens from China that are cheaper, but they will not be as good as Lodge. This is more important when you buy a big casserolle like this one. I have seen some of them casted into two parts and then welded. Lodge casts a first class dutch oven always in one piece. The lid suits the casserole like a globe. Not even a milimetre of tolerance. Finally, I am very reluctant to get things casted anywhere. I am always afraid that some lead or heavy metals have been added. This dutch oven is made in the USA under safety rules similar to the ones of the European Union. It is just pure iron. Honestly, spend some more money and buy something that you will be able to pass to you grandchildren. This is real high quality that can cope with a lot of bad treatment. And then it is a beauty.

Usual lodge quality , excellent ! Worth the higher cost ,will last a couple of generations at least !! I own a few Dutch ovens and when you compare the lodge to the cheap offerings there is no comparison . only petromax come close at a lower cost IMHO.

Works a treat however it did not come with the cook book as advertised.

It's quality for sure...but when you see how much they are in th US....you'll feel more than a little cheated.

Well it weighs a ton extremely heavy a bit ofrust marks on it, the box inside the box was open it looked like the pot had been used looks like food marks on the inside and the Handle was half on I had to use grips to get the other part of the handle on, it has good size feet on it il care for it and use it and pass down to my son and grandson's it is quality product cant wait use it for curry or casseroles chicken roast beef roast ,it comes with Lodge cast iron camp dutch oven cooking 101, nice handy thing have nice insight into the chuckwaggon trails if you already don't know cowboys , this will feed a big family stew for days it will fit a big chicken in it or a fare size turkey or duck or pheasant or rabbit in it I would recommend this product to anyone 10/10 it's a great thing to have or give has a gift that's going last life times if cared for proper I'm from UK and do honest reviews on Google the only down fall is tgere is no lid lifter with this at the price, but youl not get a better pot than this Lodge dutch oven quality costs money buy once not twice and its a forever gift, my great great great grandchildren will able use it one day and my grandson's are still very young 9 and 13 and it could last longer with care and love

Lodge as it brand is best for cast iron utensils. Problem with this is it would have not be kept properly at store godown. Delivery was perfect. But got a rusted one. Bought for 5000INR. Wait for right price. Product is perfect for camping. I got rusted one and I got it coated with oil. It’s perfect and will be super perfect after couple of uses.

Der Lodge Dutch Oven hat zwar seinen Preis, doch ich habe mich bewusst für diese Firma entschieden, weil das Gussmaterial nicht aus China kommt und die Verarbeitung sehr solide ist. Ich habe den Lodge Logic Camp Dutch Oven (Modellnummer L14DCO3)* für 124,94 € als "gebraucht - sehr guter Zustand" über Amazon Warehousedeals gekauft. (*die Bezeichnung "Lodge Logic Hänge-Schmortopf mit Eisendeckel 9,5l" bei Amazon ist etwas verwirrend ...) Der Topf kam in der leicht beschädigten Originalverpackung, komplett mit dazugehörigem Kochbuch (auf Englisch, gibt es auch nicht auf Deutsch). Es waren keinerlei Gebrauchsspuren zu erkennen, daher vermute ich, dass es sich um eine Retoure handelt. Reklamationsgrund könnte die ausgeprägte "Nase" am Deckelrand vom Einbrennen gewesen sein, die mich nicht stört und bei jedem dieser Töpfe verfahrensbedingt mehr oder weniger vorhanden ist. Der Deckel schließt einwandfrei. Den Preis finde ich für dieses Modell sehr günstig, viel billiger hat man ihn auch nicht, wenn man ihn sich direkt aus den USA mitbringt, außerdem erspart man sich die Schlepperei (das Gewicht ist schon erheblich ...). Je nachdem, ob es weitere Beilagen gibt, bekommt man mit diesem großen Dutch Oven mindestens 10 gute Esser satt. Bisher ist mir noch kein Gericht angebrannt und das Kochergebnis war jedes Mal sehr schmackhaft. Man muss allerdings gut planen, da die Garzeit sehr lang ist. Ich finde den Dutch Oven leicht zu pflegen. Wenn man nicht vergisst, ihn ohne Spülmittel zu waschen und nach jedem Benutzen mit Öl einzureiben, bleibt er lange schön. Als Zubehör ist der Deckelheber unbedingt notwendig und sollte gleich mit angeschafft werden. Mit meinem Kauf bin ich mehr als zufrieden.

I ordered this Lodge 8 Quart Pre-Seasoned Dutch Oven, not realizing the ramifications of what I was about to do. The first inkling of a problem, as the phone call to pre-arrange delivery, and ask where in the house I wanted this pot located. Watching the ten ton delivery truck arrive, solely to deliver this MASSIVE pot was extremely concerning, and seemed like overkill. They then utilized a forklift to lift this behemoth out of the vehicle, and up the driveway. Between the 8 of us (5 delivery people, myself, and 2 unlucky neighbours), we moved this monstrous pot upstairs, and placed it onto the shelf in the corner cupboard. All seemed well, and I was really impressed at its shine, quality, and appearance. Later that night however, there was a loud crash in the house, and we were unable to locate the source. The next day, cracks began to appear downstairs underneath the kitchen location, and we were fortunate to be far enough away when suddenly this pot ripped through the ceiling, crashing onto the laundry room floor below, slightly cracking the foundation floor. Other pots and pans rained down the opening, as the 8 Ton (Quart?) pot had led the way in breaking through the floor. It's pretty evident that we'll need to use this pot downstairs, and have setup charcoal briquets around it now to utilize inside the laundry room. When not cooking in it, it's large enough to rent out to university students or small families as a high quality abode with room for parking.
