What can i say its a great RO filter at a great price!
I dont see why someone could write a bad review on this RO aquatic filter...... it works like a dream, 2:1 wast water, 10 minutes to connect to water supply and mount. What can I say it works like a dream. I use it for a hydroponic setup on a 4×8 flood table with 28 plants in 3 gallon fabric pots it so far it works perfectly... time will tell if it holds up but for the price and performance I'm extremely happy with my purchase... I spent hours looking at all the different RO water filter on Amazon and I finally decided on this one and I'm happy I did. I purchased a float valve separately to have automatic shutoff on my water tank to complete my system. With automatic water feeding and the float valve the system pretty much runs itself. Hope this review helps someone else with there RO water filter decision. If i run into any problem in the future I'll be sure to report back.

Great product! Read me!
This works very well. I read all of the 1 star reviews and had to jump in... If you are getting HIGH PPM, you more than likely are capturing the WASTE water and need to reconfigure your RO buddie. This is NOT meant to feed DRINKING WATER supplies (i.e. faucet/refrigerator water supply) depending on the flow speed it is between 50-100 GALLONS PER HOUR. I have been successfully breeding Caridina shrimp using only this RO buddie with its original membrane/carbon/sediment cartridges since August 2016- On average I fill a 55 gal reservoir tank every other day. I am still getting a constant 3 ppm and recently bought a new sediment and carbon cartridge. I am maintaining the following planted tanks with only the RO buddie water and no water treatment chemicals. On average 40-50% water changes on each tank 1-2 times a week. 1x5 Gal cube tank, 1x2.5 gal desk tank, 4x20 Gal shrimp breeding tanks, 1x29 Gal planted show tank. Recently added a 40 Gal discus breeding tank to the mix doing 50% water changes every other day or every day if I have time. Planning on adding 2 more 55 gal reservoir tanks to keep up with my water changes as I do have to wait sometimes (only using the 50 GPM version!). As for the advice to get a "more expensive one" does not solve the inability to read instructions. This is the most cost effective RO/DI system on the market with cheap replacements for sediment and carbon cartridges. If you maintain these two things then the membrane will last as its intended. If you are not running some industrial fish breeding op then go with this one and follow instructions/common sense.

Does not come with 1/4 in. tubing required to use it, nor the DI scrubber. Otherwise, works well.
When you use this, make sure the water pressure from your sink/hose is high enough. Otherwise, you will not get the efficiency or speed that the unit claims it has on the box. Here are the drawbacks: Firstly, there is no flush valve on this RO system. I highly recommend you add one because it will increase the life of the RO membrane before it needs replacing. You can build a flush valve yourself fairly easily and I fit mine onto this unit without any problem. They still should've put that on the unit beforehand, though. Secondly, this unit does not come with 1/4 inch tubing, which is necessary to connect to the sink as well as for the outputs. This is probably the main drawback of this RO unit. You can buy this tubing at most hardware stores in the plumbing section. Look for tubing made from a safe, lead-free material if you are using the water for an aquarium, or for any animal or person that will consume the water. Thirdly, like many other units, it does not come with a DI filter. So if you want your water to be below 10ppm TDS, you will have to buy an add-on for it. Despite those three drawbacks, this RO unit works great at lowing the water's TDS to about 10-15 ppm, and has done so consistently for several months now.

Slower than advertised flow, filter not even filtering.
I purchased one of these years ago and it did just great. After moving I purchased another one for the new house, but the new one's flow rate was abysmal. It was taking almost 5 hours to fill a 5 gallon barrel. (product claims 100 gal/day--> about 4gal/hour.) After returning that one and getting a new one, the new one also does not work, but for different reasons. The second one's flow rate was fast but it was not filtering at all. I measured my tap water, the waste water, and the "filtered" water with a TDS meter, and all readings were 180 ppm. I have tested this same meter with bottled water that reads 15ppm, an appropriate amount for filtered water. I'm not sure If I was unlucky, or the product has gone down in quality.

Works as advertised
This filter pack is small and fairly impressive for its size. Initial set up took about 1.5 hours including flush time. I ended up just mounting it to the wall next to a drain for easier flushing and waste water disposal. For the full water cleaning I did add the DI cartridge to the front of it and it’s worth the extra money if you need clean water. It does say the water is no longer drinkable after passing through the optional DI filter though so keep that in mind. The system is being used to balance aquarium water so it’s not an issue for me. My suggestion is to get a 5 gallon jug and make several gallons at once. It connects to a faucet which can be a pain. The gasket they sent in the kit had to be cut down to fit. So I used the included razor blade and very carefully sliced the gasket like a bagel to make it stop leaking at the faucet. I don’t like the idea of having my faucet occupied by the filter system so devising an alternate would be helpful. Otherwise I am pleased with filter so far. It’s early in the testing process but the first 5 gallons came out without trouble. After fixing the faucet leak the system stays dry but follow the directions and insert the tube properly. Other systems seem to cost more so it’s hard to turn this down for the price if you have high TDS in your water or there is a need to remove other chemicals such as Chlorine.

This system works great for hydroponics or aquarium l have a total desolved solids meter and when l test the water from the filters it reads 000ppm.can't get much better than that very happy with the ROBuddy.

Used for 3 months now. Using about 15-20 gallons a week. It takes 1.75-2 hours to fill a 5 gallon bucket. Just got the water tested and it was good. The ph is low but that can be an issue with RO water. The only issue is that fitting it on a tap nosel end can be difficult. If it is not aligned perfectly it will leak from the tap. Worth the hassle given the low cost. Besides you get better at aligning it eventually. 4.5/5 stars.

My home water pressure is 65 psi, water temperature regulated (mixing cold/hot faucet water), RO water production as advertised if water temperature is set correctly. Around 10 USG of RO water produced, a distinct smell/taste that reminds me chlorine noted, TDS remains at 2 ppm. The support responded to me very fast and proposed to send a carbon filter replacement, hopefully the new filter will fix this issue, great consumer service !

It arrived fast, was easy to install and that's where the good points end! from 1 litre of useable RO water, I managed to create 20 litres of wastewater. I returned the item and now awaiting a refund. it is definitely not worth the amount I paid for it, you will be spending three times this amount per month on water bills!
