ShotKam 12-Bore Model (3rd Gen) - Digital Action Camera with Mounting Bracket for Clay Target Sports and Hunting, Black

I decided to treat myself to the Shotkam over a new shotgun, as I was pretty confident no amount of new gun was going to improve my scores. I shoot sporting regularly around the clubs and grounds of Berkshire, Hampshire and Wiltshire and typically hover around the 37- 40 mark for Sunday shoots. The Shotkam has been great highlighting my bad technique and brought into stark contrast my recollection of the of the shot compared to the empirical evidence provided by the footage. It shown me it's quite hard to swing too far in front and the lack of lead is my number one reason for missing. For quartering targets it highlighted I was aiming too close the leading edge and needed to again provide more lead and for crossers, I had a tendency to shoot above the clay, not below. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to improve. My one tip is make some notes when you view the footage back, then use the notes to remind myself before I step into the stand the following week. Even through the stands typically change, it reminds me of basics I need work into the shot. I personally don't view the footage there and then on my phone. It's too fiddly on a phone, in field, near mud, wearing gloves with possible rain or bright sunshine.. tried that.... didn't work for me. I use PC with VLC back home, once I'm all packed away with tea in hand.

I bought this to analyse my missed clays on the shooting ground,a fabulous piece of kit,watching the shot frame by frame is so useful but also is great to analyse target pickup and smoothness of swing.

Have had one day with this and 150 shot at rangr. It is expensive but well made and comes in nice case. Easy to set up. App works ok-ish. Crashes at times. Viewing on my computer is awesome. you can really see where you go wrong. Couldn't believe I could see the shot spread and wad so clearly. Really helpful feedback to improve technique. Downsides: expensive Does add significant weight 5.5 oz. I have removed my briley foreend weighted cap to compensate. Having a young family and a gun phobic wife means charging is a real hastle!! Would benefit from being easily unmounted for charging to avoid above. Having ported barrel (Benelli supersport) trying to reassemble stock is a nuisance catching the camera as I had to mount back from ported barrel. Overall pleased.

Good camera although I had a battery issue too, had to send mine back for repair and footed the postage fee to send back even being covered by the warranty

Excellent product. If your wanting to better your breaking clays this is the one for you.

I started shooting in November never having fired a shotgun in my life and subsequently purchased a shotKam to help me get from 56% averages. Well shotKam did that alright. It showed me in unforgiving high definition slow motion detail, the errors of my ways. Too low, poor mount , short on lead and too slow! The truth hurt but I was able to quickly climb to a best of 85% so far. After 2400 rounds the shotKam has performed faultlessly. The technology and build quality are superb. And I must add that the company backup and support is the best I have ever received in my long life! For new shooters that pay for coaching, the shotKam will shorten your training curve considerably and certainly help pay its way. For experienced shooters--well, if you are not shooting 100% every round, a shotKam will quickly show you why! - downsides? well the only one I have found is that I spend a lot more time at the club demonstrating the shotKam- it draws interest like a magnet! In fact our club is going to install shotKam as a training aid for school shooters-(will give me more time for shooting!) Rod Pike New Zealand.

This is great product, well made, well thought out and easy to install and use. Its high quality image capturing system clearly shows what you are actually doing with your shotgun in the critical moments before and after taking a shot and allows you to easily review each shot on your smartphone or any other device you have connected to its WiFi network. The online video tutorials showing how to install, setup and use the device couldn’t be better. Overall this device is a great aid to help improve your shooting and is well worth the money. 10/10

Enormously helpful to a beginning trapshooter, helping me make years of progress in months. High quality design and construction, high resolution videos show exact position before, during and after shot, wonderful customer service. Would be five stars but they're still working out some technical issues with wiring failures due to resonance; I'm on my third one this year, all under warranty.

The ShotKam is an invaluable tool if you want to improve your shotgun shooting. With the ShotKam and a smartphone you can get instant feedback on your shots. If you are trying to figure out how to break a clay or why you are not breaking the clay you can review the shot right then and see where your shot pattern went and how to correct it. Using my ShotKam I have increased my average from 70% to 90% by reviewing my entire round of sporting and learning why I missed certain birds. I am looking forward to this years Dove season so I can record those little speed demons! Also the staff "Emily" is great! She is very knowledgeable and friendly.
