Full Size Performance, Very Small Footprint & Price
I bought this very small DVD player for a relatively cramped viewing/playback area in my RV. Given its low cost and very small size, I did not expect it to perform as well as my larger, full-feature Sony DVD player in my home theater. However, I compared them by playing the same home-made (self-recorded family archive) DVD and a commercial DVD (specifically a Charlies Angels action movie). I fed them each to my Sony Bravia 55" screen via the same HDMI input. The picture and sound quality were identical! The user controls/menus, however, were very different. The Craig menus/controls are much clunkier (i.e., not polished/pretty) but they still do everything I want to do. The bottom line: This is a very good deal and does everything a larger, more expensive player can do. The user controls may take a bit of getting used to but after playing a few DVDs you'll probably find you've adapted. If not, give it to your kids!! They can handle it for sure! :-)

Compact, Lightweight & Easy to Use
We absolutely LOVE how this Craig DVD player is super lightweight, compact, and easy to carry upstairs to our rooftop deck, which is exactly what we needed. It plays DVDs and CDs with no issues, and the picture looks great on our TV. Plus, the HDMI upscales nicely, but note that the HDMI cable and AA batteries for the remote aren’t included. Overall, it’s a simple, convenient player that gets the job done for outdoor or secondary TV use.

No HDMI cable included
I have a a lot of DVDs and sometimes you just don’t want to use your game console for it so I decided to go ahead and buy this. Seems ok, is compact and light weight, volume is a bit on the lower but that’s fixable. The only thing is that it does not come with HDMI cable. Playback seems a tab old, image look like an old movie but again for the price is not bad and it does what it was purchased for.

Perfect!
Works great and super easy to install! Took like less than a minute!!! Nice and compact. Plug-in play…plug it in and it’s ready to go! No need for HDMI, just change your source on your TV remote. The AV plug that it comes with iworks perfect. (Just in case you don’t know -red, white and yellow = red, white, and green)

Compact and Reliable DVD Player
The Craig CVD401A Compact HDMI DVD Player has been a great addition to my entertainment setup. Its compact design is perfect for small spaces, and the sleek black finish looks modern and unobtrusive. Setup was a breeze – just plug it into the HDMI port on my TV, and I was up and running. The player is compatible with a range of formats including DVD-R, DVD-RW, and JPEG, which is a nice touch for viewing digital photos directly from discs. The included remote control is user-friendly and responsive, allowing for easy navigation through menus and settings. Picture and sound quality are both solid for a player at this price point. It handles standard DVDs without issues, providing clear visuals and decent audio. One minor drawback is that it lacks additional features like USB ports or smart functionality, but for a basic DVD player, it delivers reliable performance. If you’re looking for a straightforward, no-frills option for playing DVDs, the Craig CVD401A is a good choice. It offers good value for its price and meets the needs of those who want a compact and efficient player.

Not Worth It
Honestly, I was excited to receive the product because it seemed like a very simple piece of technology and others really enjoyed the purchase. I on the other hand was absolutely let down. I installed the device properly and when it came time for me to play a DVD, it didn’t want to play. And you might say, “oh you we’re probably trying to play some other format that was not DVD”. I wasn’t, all of the discs I used were regular formatted DVD’s, which according to the box of the product, were the type of CD’s needed. I gave it a couple of tries and justified the device not working for me because it was brand new and I was not used to it. It took me putting about 5 or 6 different DVD’s for one to actually be read properly and begin to play. After that, I watched another movie and it played with no problem and I was satisfied that whatever the original problem was, I had probably figured it out. Fast forward about a week or two, I want to use the device again. And to my dismay it was not letting me play the DVD’s again. But this time I was not going to sit there for however long and put in DVD after DVD trying to get it to work. I determined that if this product was simply going to not work, I was not going to waste my time on it any more. I tried one final time and an error occurred once again I just simply unplugged everything and shoved all of the items back into its box. I don’t know if my product was simply defective because it seems that others genuinely enjoyed it. But all I can say from my experience, it is not worth spending that amount of money for something that didn’t work.

Gets the job done
Honestly, it does the job. I needed 1 quick and wasn't about to spend on something big and bulky because I hardly ever use them. It's small, compact, gets the job done, and is still going, so I'm kinda impressed in something so cheap

Simple to use and install
I am technology challenged...I know how to do stuff on my phone but that about it. Hooking this up was very easy...3 plugs color coded match the plugs to the corresponding colors on the TV then plug it into your outlet and boom you have a working DVD player. Picture is good quality for what you're paying for...you want sharp 4D resolution then spend more money. I bought this bc I wanted to watch a DVD set that I hadn't watched in a while and didn't have a DVD player and really didn't want to watch on my laptop. It gets the job done and a well trained chimp can figure out the remote. When switching input on your TV it comes up as COMPOSITE..I have a VIZIO TV so it may be different for other brands. Doesn't take up a lot of space either so if you are needing a DVD for a TV in a small space like a RV or something... this will be perfect. The only thing I find a little annoying is when I turn the volume up on my TV using my TV remote it turns the power on to the DVD player... possibly same frequency, but not the end of the world... just an annoyance.

Worth the price!
Perfect little dvd player and totally worth the price. It’s nothing fancy but it’s easy to set up and operate (even my five year old can work it)! Love going to the library with my little and grabbing some movies for the week. Great option if you’re trying to stream less and be more mindful about what you’re watching. I’ve had it for ages now and had no issues with it!

It's a little bigger then your hand.
Player lightweight, remote is very light and cheap, easy installation, HDMI cord not included, great if you want something small and compact , only giving four stars because of remote and no HDMI cord.
