Record player
I am a first time owner of a record player. I'm from the CD/MP3 generation, with parents in the vinyl generation. I became interested in vinyl records seeing that some of my favorite artists still recorded on vinyl. I thought buying this item and records in the future would make for some valuable collectables. I want to break my ratings down in to record/CD/player & AM/FM, speakers, and delivery & setup. Record player, CD player, Cassette player, & AM/FM players all work great. Very impressed with the design and the ease of usage on this item also. just plug it in, throw on the record and crank the volume. Rugged design, doesn't seem like it will break any time soon. 10/10 The speakers are great, but they don't blow me away. I can sense the bass, they are clear and plenty loud enough. 9/10 This item was delivered in approximately 7 days, as I chose the free shipping. Happy with the speed of the delivery, package came and nothing was broken. Like I said before, I took it out, plugged it in, and cranked it up. 10/10 I love this thing so far. It gives me a reason to spend money A.K.A. support my favorite bands. No static, this thing sounds great. Also for the price, you can NOT beat this thing on the market. I will recommend this to any body.

Awesome for the price!
I bought this for my significant other for Christmas. It was a great buy! It plays all of our records, cd's, and the radio works well. It has a tape player in side, but I don't have any tapes so I haven't been able to try it out. The entire system is small so it didn't take up much space which is great because we didn't have anywhere to put something large. The sound quality is amazing for something so small. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants a total all in one stereo system. And if you wanted bigger speakers, all you have to do is get some with wire connections and you can put any size speaker with it.

Great little system!
I ordered this mainly for the turntable but the entire system is actually quite nice! I am using in in my study and the sound is very, very good. Just hooked it up ( plug and play speakers ), turned it on and viola! everything works....This is perfect for my needs. The only drawback I have noticed is the needle arm for the turntable feels a tad light so I put a penny on top ( yes, this is an old-fashioned fix for records that skip or get stuck ) and it made a world of difference. The FM antenna picks up more clear stations than my Philips system did, which was quite nice until I jammed the cd player :-( hence, I ordered this as a replacement and I am very pleased. Nice little system, good sound, easy setup . Highly recommend!!!!

Does what it's supposed to do, with many flaws
If you're into Heavy Metal/Hard Rock, heed this review: I bought this turntable after my Optimus Lab-1100 would not stop humming. Believe me I tried it all to get rid of that hum and nothing worked. Anyways, I turned my attention to the JTA-475 because of the price and multi-functionality. Of course before buying it I checked every major retailer (online/full-line stores) and no one really had any "huge" problems with it. So I bought it and it arrived at my home in about three business days. Right out of the box, everything came nicely packaged and seemingly new. It even had a quaint smell to it. Setting up was insanely easy and took me about five minutes. Plugged it in, put a record in, hit play, and everything was fine. Well.. everything was fine until I started playing different records. I have a lot of heavy metal and hard rock records and the only way I could describe their sound quality on this turntable was absolute garbage. On any given song, it would produce these infrequent high-frequency sounds that would just murder my ears. Any squealing guitar solo, any high-register scream, and even cymbals/rides would just sound the worst to the ear. A good description would be: screeching. After finding that flaw I immediately packed it back up and sent it back. My Jethro Tull and AC/DC records seemed fine, but when I put on the heavier stuff like Metallica, Cauldron, or Repugnant the in-capabilities of this device became obvious. Also, the tape-deck didn't work, CD player seemed fine, and I didn't get a chance to try out the tuner. The speakers were ok by me and the whole device fit nicely on a small desk in my room. Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone. Great price, bad product. I guess I'm just going to save up a couple hundred and buy a turntable that actually does what it's supposed to do. "You get what you pay for."

Very compact! Great sound!
The system is surprisingly small and compact but works great. After I unpacked it and saw how small it was (small speakers too) I was worried that it would have lousy sound but I was very happy to find that the sound was solid, with a good rich tone and volume. It’s made of a very light weight plastic but everything works beautifully. The compact size is perfect for my smaller home. I actually love it!

Decent bang for the buck as long as you aren't huge on sound quality.
Seems like a lot for the money and it is but the sound quality is overall poor. Also, the image doesn't show this but the record is actually hanging off the left side of the unit. This means that can't put the left side of the stereo against anything if you plan on playing records. This is a good product if you're new or just getting into vinyl but I would stay away if you are on the verge of getting serious. The "bass boost" is hardly noticeable, the turntable cartridge is as cheap as you can get, the CD player worked great, the FM radio was fine and I never used the cassette player. Volume control buttons on the stereo itself are painstakingly slow but the remote worked well and was actually faster. I bought this and had it for less than a year before I decided it was not enough for me and I upgraded. One nice thing is that you can pair other speakers including a sub woofer up to this but even then you just won't come close to the sound quality you'd get from a real receiver and turntable.

Very nice compact stereo system
This little stereo system is perfect for a smaller area. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a whole house or large room stereo. As mentioned in some of the reviews, it is not a super loud system. The digital volume control goes up to 30. But for my purposes, for use in a sewing room, it is perfect. It is nice looking and functions properly. The sound is crisp and clear. For the money, I am very happy with it.

Good quality sound system.
Have been looking & comparing a sound system that would have radio, turntable, CD & cassettes to no avail. This Jensen system had it all plus 3 speed turntable that can accommodate 33/45/78 records. All with a remote control! Found the instruction manual fairly easy to follow & really only have to attach speaker wires to main console. Reasonable price.
