Im wanting something to transfer old tapes to cd's -that isnt so expensive but still good sound

get a ''tape2pc'' made by*ion. you can transfer into a computer or it transfers tape to a new tape. its very high quality.once you put your cassettes into a pc laptop you can burn them onto cds too.

Hi! Can you use this to record music onto a cassette from a computer i.e. via the microphone jack into the computer's speaker jack?

Not sure. I think there's a 1/8" mic line in. You could likely finagle that somehow. It's primarily a table top mono recorder, though. It's definitely not hi-fi.

Why is this cassette recorder so expensive? Is it a professional quality "news reporter" machine?

The one I have listed is a little over $18. Not too bad compared to the brand new in box one priced at 199.99.

Can it work solely on the batteries without the Dc in 6v power plug?
