I am obsessed with make up and flawless application on a budget. This sponge gives you the biggest bang for your buck. It allows for a seamless application of your foundation and other cream complexion products, blends smoothly and easily.

The Chapman sisters have stated repeatedly in videos that there are no "rules" for this sponge; just do what works for you. Bounce the makeup in for fuller coverage; gently sweep it on for lighter coverage. Use whichever side gives you the results you like. I don't use this sponge very often for foundation. My skin type and texture lends better to bare finger or brush application. However, when I do use this sponge for foundation, I dampen it first for smoother application and to keep from wasting product, and I find that I need to squeeze hard with a towel to get every excess drop of water out or the sponge becomes squishy and limp and dilutes my makeup. Also for foundation I prefer using the big round side, not the flat side. I do use the sponge every day for concealer. I use the pointy end, sometimes damp, sometimes dry. No real preference there. I don't love this sponge for finishing powder, but it's nice for highlight and I imagine it would work well with a heavier powder (mineral) foundation. I haven't used any other rounded sponges and therefore can't make any brand comparisons. This one works well enough and comes at a price so low that I see no need to try others.
