Large is a little snug
I bought a large because you don't want a bike helmet to move around, its a little snug for the size listed but didn't hurt and I am sure over the next couple uses, it will give a little better. Its lightweight and I could hardly tell I had it on. Works great and looks even better

buy something else if you're a daredevil
Like everyone says - fits on the small/snug side. I'm keeping the size I ordered, but I am going to have some serious helmet hair. Measure your head, google the protec sizing chart and probably go up a size if you are within .5" inch of the maximum measurement, or if you intend to wear a winter cap or wear your hair in a braid or some other style that will add thickness.If I were intending to go really fast or practice fancy tricks where my head might get slammed against a railing, concrete wall, etc., I would get something with more substantial protection. This one is pretty lightweight and the padding is fixed in with velcro. Beats wearing nothing, but daredevils should probably get something better.

This is our 3rd helmet by Pro-tec. Kids love the color and style so its on vs. in the grass. I did order too big and needed to get another for the right side. My son (8) got a XL and my other son (3) got the S/M.
