Product Description Big-screen favorite Harrison Ford stars in this nonstop adventure hit about a dream vacation that turns into a hilarious tropical nightmare! A gruff, rough-hewn cargo pilot living in the islands, Quinn Harris (Ford) hates tourists ... though he's not above making a fast buck from a sharp-tongued New Yorker, Robin Monroe (sexy Anne Heche -- VOLCANO, WAG THE DOG), when she's desperate for a quick flight to Tahiti! But this already uneasy relationship suddenly takes a nosedive when his weather-beaten old plane is forced down in a storm! Now, stranded together on a deserted isle, Quinn and Robin quickly discover all the perils of paradise. As this mismatched pair find themselves facing danger at every turn, you're sure to find their misfortunes fueling one of Hollywood's most entertaining action-comedy hits in years! desertcart.com The African Queen meets Swept Away in this sometimes labored romantic comedy by director Ivan Reitman. Fortunately, he cast an old pro in Harrison Ford, as Quinn Harris, a South Seas charter pilot who must ferry New York fashion editor Robin Monroe (Anne Heche) from one island to another--a hop that falls flat when they fly into a mammoth storm that causes them to crash on a deserted island. The pair resent and resist each other, until they are forced to team up to escape from the island--and some modern pirates who want their heads. If that part of the story is unconvincing, you can always focus on the smoldering comic chemistry between Heche, who displays strong comic instincts, and the ever-reliable Ford. The script is just an excuse for these two flinty characters to strike increasingly romantic sparks off each other, which is always enjoyable to watch. --Marshall Fine Review: Movie - Great product Review: This is one of Harrison Ford's and Anne Heche best films togther. - There was nothing to dislike about this film, it was all fun and then some. Harrison Ford is kind of like an older playboy who is having a little fun on an Island. While transporting people back and forth and making a little money to support his drinking habit. Playing around with his little side-kick young hottie. Then Anne Heche comes in with her new DR Beau and fiancee enjoying life thinking she is going to be the next Barbara Walters comes along and puts more laughter into the film she is hilarious when she feels like she is trapped with Harrison Ford and needs to be somewhere and her phone isn't working, and one things leads to another and she is constantly blaming him for everything, in return he is blaming her. Things get twisty and a little danger but all is good and its a very funny movie. I loved it and probably will watch it again like the 10 time or so.

Six Days Seven Nights DVD
A great adventure/action/romance movie starring Harrison Ford and Anne Heche. Ford and Heche are brought together early on when Ford, the owner/pilot of a air taxi company operating between islands, attempts to fly Heche to an island where she has a business appointment. During their night flight abrupt stormy weather destroys the aircraft's electronic and radio system and it forces Ford to alter his course. Ultimately, he has to make an emergency landing on the shore of a little known uninhabited island. The night landing is successful but it results in a damaged wheel gear which disables the airplane. After several personal conflicts among themselves and a brief contact with a small band of modern pirates, from whom they narrowly escape, Ford and Heche discover an old wrecked airplane that has usable floats. Toward the end of the movie Ford and Heche unite their talents to repair the airplane and they barely manage to get it back into the air. All this happens while the off-coast pirate ship crew tries to destroy them and the airplane with their boat-gun. However, Ford was injured by an exploding shell in the process and loses blood quickly. While he is flying and before passing out, he gives Heche some basic flying instructions and tells her how to find their way back to civilization. Which she does. The movie ends correctly but you need to see it to learn how it ends. It may interest some to learn that Ford is a real pilot himself and he owns the same type of airplane, a Canada built DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver (aka Army L-20), that was featured in the film. Those remarkable airplanes, many on floats, are still operating in Canada, Alaska, and elsewhere. In 1987 that airplane design was recognized by the Canadian Engineering Board as one of the top ten achievements of the 20th century. During an interview, a few years ago, Ford was asked to reveal his favorite sound. He replied, "The sound of a radial engine". Incidentally, that's the type of engine that the DHC-2 has.

When I saw the following review, I laughed out loud. "Second rate movie with a third rate plot. Ford is beginning to show his age. To make matters worse -- Heche's character is totally uninteresting; a real airhead. Now why would a middle-aged man, who supposedly is wordly, go for a young woman, who between the ears is nothing more than a wind tunnel? How much more entertaining and intriquing this movie could have been if the woman's part was played by someone closer to Ford's age and sophistication! It would have given Ford's character a run for his money, and we would really see the sparks fly. (Ah yes, but this is Hollywood -- no guts, and always choose the easy way out). The pirates were a bit much. Could have been a good flick, but got wasted away -- as usual." My guess is this review was written by a woman closer to Ford's age, who considers herself to be `sophisticated', and someone who could give Ford's character a 'run for his money'. Whether Harrison, or Quinn, can actually be considered `sophisticated' is another question, which I won't address. Instead, let's address the question of why a middle-aged man would go for a young woman who may have nothing to offer in the intellect department. Is there anyone out there, other than sophisticated older women, who have any questions about that? Well, maybe we should discuss it, just in case. When a man looks at a woman, various factors are at play. There is the learned response, and there is the programmed response. The programmed response is the result of millions of years of evolution. It says that one should mate with someone who is likely to produce successful offspring. A young mate is more likely to produce successful offspring, and it would be nice if the offspring were nice-looking, so it's safer to pick a mate who is nice-looking. Simple, isn't it? Men may be able to ignore this programming and choose a sophisticated older woman as a companion, but if they do, they are ignoring their evolutionary programming. Young people will say that the old should recognize that their day is done, please fade away, etc, but the fact remains that the programming is still there. Let's not forget the fact that Quinn starts off with a twenty-something playmate, and winds up with a thirty-something New York sophisticate. That is progress, right? Maybe he did realize that middle age was upon him, and it was time to find someone more his age. As to the movie, I love the scenery, and I like the fact that the middle-aged man finds happiness - or at least, the prospect of some quality sack-time.

I liked the movie although I thought Harrison Ford wasn't stretched too much by the script. Anne Heche put in a good performance alongside Harrison Ford but the script was weak at times. David Schwimmer was playing "Ross from Friends" in another movie which annoyed me. Overall a fun, action movie that is light hearted entertainment. Worth a viewing.
