Steak Knives Set of 4 Black Polypropylene Handle with Rounded Tip

I have four sets of these knives. The blades themselves are made of decent steel and the serrated edges come very sharp and stay sharp. The handles are a good size and comfortable to hold and use. For everyday use, these are perfect as I have used some of these for years. The only way the blades will rust on these is if you left them to soak in water for days on end, so don't do that. A wipe and a wash in the dishwasher (handles down) and your all set. Perfect kitchen utility knives for me. Having said all that, these knives do have some minor flaws which is why I WOULD NOT GIVE THESE AS GIFTS. These are made using plastic molded injection machines, which in itself is not an issue if the molds are maintained and the knives are processed using the correct temperature of the raw material and clamped at the correct pressure for an adequate period of time. The molds used to form the handles to the blade shank have not been thoroughly maintained. Typically these knives have "flash", residual material at the seam where the two sides meet. This is easily trimmed using an Exacto blade or a file. The "gate" (where hot raw material is injected into the mold" is on the curved end of the handle and has to be trimmed on about a third of these. Where the plastic handle meets the knife blade, there are sometimes bubbles or small voids, this is due to inadequate material temp and pressure. But this defect is aesthetic and does not impact function or service life. These are not for formal dining either. I buy these when they are on sale for just under $12, at that price these are a steal!!!

They are very sharp. They cut through steak like it was butter. I read some reviews that mentioned the handles feeling " cheaply" made. The knives I got didn't feel like that at all. For 12 knives, decent quality, you can't beat the price anywhere. If your looking for every day knives, don't pass these by.

I have now purchased these knifes twice. The first set was used at Christmas for the prime rib everyone liked them. They have been put away with the Christmas China. I then needed new knifes at cabin so ordered them up again . They are so nice to use, sharp, good length, not a pointed tip. Slice right through that perfect grilled steak. Thinking of ordering a set for each one of my children.

I searched for these after using one like it at a friend's house. (She no longer knew where she had gotten the two she had). Not only do these knives work well for steak... but I prefer them to larger knives for some other tasks like cutting up fresh pineapple. This knife safely and easily cuts thru the rugged exterior of a pineapple! Its rounded tip is safer to use or to carry in a lunch container (or leave one in my desk at work without causing concern). Note that these knives should not be put in a dishwasher. But this knife is so practical that handwashing them is not a problem for me, even though I rely on a dishwasher for cleaning and sanitizing most other kitchen items. Versatile and highly recommended --even for vegetarians who think they do not need steak knives! :-)

If you're looking for great steak knives, I would stop right here and get these. The price is amazing, and they are extremely durable. When I purchased them, I was apprehensive that the end of the knife was curved and not sharp like most steak knives, but this actually makes them more multi-purpose. They cut through steak fantastically, but because of that curve make buttering and spreading much easier. This also makes them safer for children (and clumsy adults like me!). My family uses these knives almost every night with dinner, and I also use them when I have a lot of guests. They have held up extremely well. I started noticing most restaurants I go to actually also have these knives. Highly recommend.

Nice set of knives. Pretty sharp...although my victorinox is way sharper,these do the job pretty well...from cutting tomatoes to bread these are a great,inexpensive little knife set...also they wash very well in the dishwasher...no rusting etc.The handle is nice too..I would recommend this...it is an excellent steak knive for the price!

I purchased these nearly 16 months ago, and I wanted to try these for a little while before I wrote a recommendation. I will buy these again, but I don't think I will have to. These knives may not be the most expensive and they may not be the best looking, but they are definitely the best steak knives I have owned. Dishwasher safe, but be careful, they stay sharp. I have two other sets of expensive steak knives that we purchased that are newer than these, but I prefer these hands down. Try them and if you don't like them...send them back. I don't think you will be sending them back. Twelve knives is more than we need, but that is all we use. If they go bad (and after 16 months using and washing in the dishwasher) I would still purchase them again. The price appears to make them cheap, but they are great knives. Update: June 13, 2016 After nearly 3 years, these steak knives are still the best I have purchased. They are still sharp. You have to be careful...you can easily cut yourself.

I bought these knives to have in case I have company over because my regular every day set only has 8. I wish I did more research on these. Although they are a really good price and do the job just fine the handles are very small and chinzy in your hand. So I will still just be putting these out as needed but they won't be part of my everyday knives.

These knives couldn't cut an onion when I took them straight out of the packet. They are flimsy and not sharp. They are only fit for the bin! Wasted my money and was very upset.

Well made, very inexpensive. Time will tell how long they can keep an edge a resist the dishwasher, but for the moment, they are doing fine.
