A KNIGHT TO REMEMBER! A gamer falls asleep--only to wake up in the world of the game he was playing! Arc has the powerful skills and weapons of his character, but there’s just one problem... he’s stuck looking like that character, too. An adventure in a fantastical new land awaits him, if he can get used to being a walking skeleton! Review: a solid start - A good storyline overall. Does get you into the series quickly with only a brief prologue of his previous life. The series does go into the darker side of humanity. It works well with the OPMC. I started reading this through a recommendation from KU subscription. Only the first book was included with that. And I admit while I would like to read the rest, there’s so many other series that I have bookmarked to read that it just doesn’t make sense for me to pay for additional stories when others are included in KU. However, if you are looking for a solid series to read, and you’ve been paying per book I’d recommend this one. Review: Not the same as the anime - So if you are like me you grab light novels of the anime series you like that may or may not be continued in order to follow the progress of your favorite characters. And for series like In Another World with my Smart Phone or Death March to a Parallel World you can skip the first three books because the anime is exact word for word like the light novels. You cannot do that with Skeleton Knight in Another World. You could probably get away with not reading the first book because it is at least similar to the anime. But how Arc meets Ponta and Ariane is very different in the books than the anime, but in general it is close. But the books are much more serious. The anime is more comedy than fantasy, the books are the opposite. There is some humor, but not much. Arc is not nearly as careless with his powers in the books, he does not do random laughs, when you meet Goemon in book two the interactions are absolutely nothing like in the Anime. In fact much of book two is not in the anime and by book three there are almost no similarities what so ever. I mean you do have the Fuumba arc, but other than being an animal tamer with imps and ogres there is nothing else in common. I loved the anime, I have already watched it a third time, but the books are better and they make a lot more sense. They are better thought out, have better pacing, and are a much better read. If you like Isekai stories I would recommend it.

The first volume was interesting
The volume mainly focuses on Arc adjusting to his new life as a skeleton, strangely he's still able to eat and sleep. He tries to keep a low profile, but that has been difficult since he's dressed like a holy knight and is able to use abilities from multiple skill classes. I wonder what he'll do next after becoming friends with the elves. I wouldn't recommend this series to children. It has gory details and slight nudity.

Action, politics and a great story.
Is hard to find original and good stories in this gender. An overpowered main character being transported to an alternate world, tons of novel has been written about, but this one excels among those. The ma I n character is just great, with a cool personality and lot of fun moments. Side characters are nicely introduced and hopefully will be developed in future books. The best part is how to author introduces politics and intrigue, with several plot lines running parallel. This book is a great introduction to this setting and is looking like a really fun read.

very well written
I finished season 2 of the anime and wanted to continue with the series. An AI program suggested reading number one before 5 because it had more than the anime. It was a good idea. I was thoroughly entertained. Number 5 picks up where season2 ended. That’s what I’m reading next.

"Undead" Isekai that is simply awesome.
This series is very interesting and fun despite also covering a lot of heavy topics. Also has some elements of game mechanics becoming real with some interesting takes even though it isn't actually a game becoming reality story in truth it is hard to explain without spoilers. Avoid the manga, it tries to cram way too much in each volume and loses far more than the nuances that make this story and the characters so interesting. Seriously hoping for an anime that stays true to the books and anxiously awaiting a 5th book even if book 4 kinda changes things in some ways.

It's not Overlord, and that's okay!
So yeah, here's another isekai, where an overpowered protagonist stumbles into a world with an unsettling appearance. I won't belabor the plot of the novel, since if you've read one, you've read them all. Nothing too special on that mark. However, if you think this is going to be as character-driven like Overlord, or dark as Goblin Slayer (artwork is pretty similar), or comedic like any of FUNA's works, well you're out of luck. This is pretty much just a set-up to the rest of the series, and when I say "just a set-up," I mean literally. The novel is essentially a collection of short stories focused around Arc (protagonist) slowly learns his powers and involves himself in the cliched far-reaching events, all while trying to remain inconspicuous. Like every other isekai out now. But, I will say there are two things going for this series that makes me recommend it. Firstly, the writing itself is conscise and flowing, rarely stopping to bother with tangents or trying to over-communicate something. If you need to know, you'll be told. Adding in some nice editing, and you've got a package that serves as an excellent foray for anyone either new to the light novel world, or someone who wants an easy read between other novels. Though I may not be a fan of the story, the author is certainly someone with talent. (also, thank you editors for doing your job for once) Secondly, we have our protagonist Arc. Like with the great Ainz-sama (SASUGA!), he is someone drawn into a body that seems to be losing its humanity, which has an impact on their mental state. Arc serves as an interesting inverse, as he comes off as very nonchalant and desensitzed, even before he begins worrying about his body's impact. There are certainly hints that he may be going down a darker road in the future, but for now, it remains at just that. Suffice it to say, his transformation actually serves as an impetus for Arc to make an important decision at the end of the novel, where other characters (like Diablo from "How Not To Summon a Demon Lord") just pass it off. In short, as I've rambled on way too long, it's a novel that shows promise, with an author and protagonist worth following, but please keep in mind that volume 1 by itself serves as little more than an introduction to this new world, rather than any concrete, complete story within it.

Fun Adventure/Fantasy/RPG
I liked that this book has a main character you feel safe following. He's on an adventure and finds each new experience interesting. It's almost like he's playing an RPG for real. I have a pretty anxious life and like to read books or play video games to relax. So I appreciate books where I don't have to worry about the main character too much, but still is filled with plenty of adventure. I can't really say anything I don't like about the book at the moment. (Although I first watched the Anime, Read the Manga, and then skipped about halfway through the book to continue where the manga left off. But other than some minor details, I feel like they followed each other closely.) If you like a main character that's OP and helps others while finding out more about a new Fantasy world he was dropped into and even learning about his own capabilities, then this is the book for you.

Amazing!
I can't wait to read it all! (The rest of the novels) I love the anime. But, I'm loving this novel even more! Arc is such a good character and Ponta stole our hearts.

Divertido e interesante
