Mobile Toolbox
I'll preface this by saying that I don't typically write reviews, but this little thing is so useful i had to make an exception. I got one of these holsters for use at my job as a facilities manager, primarily to carry around my leatherman (since the holster that came with it had to be threaded onto the belt, making it a hassle to remove if i needed to). Honestly, I just bought it for the style of belt clip, which is fantastic. it rotated to any position, fits on any belt up to 2", and won't fall off when you've gotta get into an awkward working position. That's small potatoes though; the real reason this thing is so great is that in addition to holding any sized multitool in the main pouch, the outside pouch holds a 6" crescent wrench very securely. there's also a little pouch behind the main one that's perfect for the bits for the leatherman's bitdriver in that little plastic thing they come in. But wait, there's more. I found a little nite-ize LED flashlight that clips perfectly on one of the elastic straps on the side, and on the other side i've clipped on a compact volt meter, completing this mini toolbox and aside from the occasional hammer, level, or power drill, I have every tool I need on me at all times. The only drawback is minor: as with any utility belt device, it's a bit of a bulge under your shirt, if you're not the type to tuck your shirt in. i've not found it to be a hindrance, as that's mainly cosmetic and when you're as ugly as I am it really doesn't matter. I'd highly recommend this holster to anyone who wants great versatility, quality craftsmanship, and hates carrying a bunch of stuff in their pockets, and just about everyone in the Facilities Management field.

Great tool holster
This little holster is absolutely amazing. I have 2, 1 for a multi tool and 1 for a box cutter and they both fit well. I used them often for work as a driver and in the warehouse. I ordered them 10 years ago and I'm just now needing to replace 1.

A good holster, I just wish a few things were different
I like this holster. I bought it for a Leatherman Wave, it works much better than the original holster. I like the elastic expanding design, it holds the Wave nicely. Also, the holster does have a split opening at the bottom, so you can put the Wave in while the pliers are open, with the nose of the pliers poking through the slit. You really have to squeeze the pliers down to get the flap closed this way, I usually just let them sit up higher and the flap hangs open. I wish the flap had a velcro closure instead of the snap closure. With the Wave in the holster and the flap snapped shut, there is a half inch of empty space between the top of the tool and the top of the flap. If there was velcro with a long range of attachment, you could pull the flap down further and the holster would be more compact. I like the clip, it holds securely, either on a belt, or a waistband of pants, or on the side pocket of a tool bag. The clip is a bit of a pain to put on and off though, you have to lift it open from the bottom side. It does get easier with practice. I wish that the clip was spring loaded and cantilevered, so you could squeeze it at the top to open it, but that's not easy to make with a simple plastic design. I like that the clip can rotate, I frequently attach it to the waistband of my jeans and turn it horizontal, then turn it back vertical when I reattach the clip to my tool bag. The small pocket on the back of the holster is not very useful to me. I do have the 40-Bit assortment for the Wave. You can comfortably fit one of the two bit holders in the back pocket. But that pushes the tool farther away from the clip, and I don't like the way it feels on my belt. There is a picture on the product page that shows both bit holders in the back pocket. I tried it. Yes, you can *squeeze* both bit holders into that pocket, but it stretches the holster in a bad way and puts extra stress in the area where the clip is attached, so I do not advise doing that. The bit holders are small and light enough I just carry them in my pants pocket. Overall, this holster is definitely worth getting for the Wave.

Super durable after a year (nearly 5 years now)
Oct 2023 update: Now, after nearly 5 years, I'm still using it (I'm in commercial/industrial constuction but mine still looks way better than another reviewer's pics of his 4 year old holster). I've moved on from the Gerber Center-Drive through a Roxon S801S Storm (great scissors; rubber bit holder lost the bit adapter) and am now using this to carry a Flissa stainless 16-in-1 (lesser scissors than Roxon S801S but exceptional quality for around $30 on Amazon; some reviews say comparable to Leatherman quality). The elastic side bands (which I now use to hold a AAA battery light) are getting a bit loose. I don't even use the light's pocket clip to keep it on, just enlarged bulb (LED) end up and haven't had it come out even once. It HAS shifted behind the shield a number of times making me panic that I'd lost the light. Dec 2019 review: This holster is far superior to the cheap nylon pouches that usually come with multi-pliers & costs about half as much to replace (over buying from the OEM). I use this for my Gerber Center-Drive. I'm not especially pleased with the multi-pliers (crumbled cutters, no scissors, lost bit [the flip out arm lost it, not the rubber holder]; a story for another review) but love this Nite Ize holster. It fits both the rather fat Gerber Center-Drive along with the, again rather fat, rubber bit holder that came with the tool. The Center-Drive did start off a little tight at first but pretty quickly broke in. I store the strip of bits that came with the tool behind the "shield" (the part of the holster where the male part of the snap closure resides). Even though the bit holder sticks out the bottom of the shield (visible in the pics), I've never yet had any fall out in over a year of use (I credit both the rubber bit holder & the holster). Nite Ize's plastic belt hooks have always (in my 15+ years of using them) been extra durable & don't come off unless you make a very deliberate effort to take it off your belt. Their rigid belt hooks tend not to lean nearly as much as the nylon belt loops that are usually included with multi-tools. I can't really find anything wrong with this holster.

Solid holster. Does the job well.
I first bought this product out of necessity. The original holster for my Gerber multitool had worn down to the point where the tool could no longer stay inside it. Enter the Nite Ize Tool Holster. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but it does a very good job of keeping it on your belt. The button stays snapped even when you're crawling around on the ground, say, under a car. The holster also allows you to choose whichever orientation you'd like the tool to be situated on your belt, meaning that on the fly, you can spin the entire holster on your belt 360 degrees. There is a bit of a learning curve regarding taking the holster off of your belt, but once you figure it out, it's smooth sailing. The only con I could see with it is that over time, if you don't get the tool in the slot just right, one of the two flaps that surrounds the tool can bend, making it difficult for you to place the tool back into the holster; however, this can be alleviated by simply using your thumb as a guide for replacing the tool into the holster.. All in all, I would definitely recommend this product, and if someone were to purchase a multitool in the future, I would recommend immediately spending the money on this holster. Worth every penny.

Heavy Duty Holster
If you are looking for a heavy duty holster for carrying multitools, you might want to give this one a closer look. The body of the holster streches to accomodate larger and wider multitools, has a heavy duty look and feel and the cover has a metal snap closure. It also uses a plastic belt clip that is very thick, and you can take the holster on and off your belt although it does take some getting used to. Also, this holster may be used for knives and small flashlights as well. All in all a very well made holster.

Great Holster, Great Price
This is a GREAT holster. It will fit all sizes of multitools from a small Swiss Army Knive to a full size 4.5" Supertool 300, and because of the elastic panels, they all fit snugly; no chance of them falling out. It's made of ballistic nylon and seems to be of higher quality than the original sheaths that came with my Leatherman tools, and it has a snap rather than velcro. It mounts easily on you belt and rotates 360 degrees so you can carry your multitool vertically or horizontally depending on your preference. The belt clip design makes it easy to take on and off but almost impossible for it to accidentally fall off. The only negative I see is it sticks out farther than most holsters because of the clip design and ability to rotate. After a while, I quit noticing, and I don't even know I'm wearing it even though I'm carrying a HUGE Victorinox Work Champ. Highly recommended.

Decent Bulky Universal Holster
I use this for a few different things. Every day it holds my Leatherman Super Tool 300 , but occasionally is used for a handful of other tools/knives or the Maglite XL200 . It expands to hold my 300 easily. It snugs back down on my medium sized Maglight. The snap is very strong, as well is the material. The holster uses a couple flat stretch bands that allow for extra expansion while keeping it snug enough that smaller items wouldn't bounce around. It also allows for you to slide something else into the pouch with a tool, like the Leatherman bit sleeve. You can slide something narrow, or maybe even the bit sleeve, in the slot on the back of the holster. Though the belt clip is plastic, it is a unique design and is near impossible to accidentally detach from a belt. Unfortunately the swivel clip attachment point feels a little loose. Not like it might fall off, but like there is some play between the belt clip and attachment point at the holster. It swivels offering multiple angles and positions, and snaps into position so its not constantly moving to unwanted vertical or horizontal positions while being active. After a couple weeks of use, the swivel has lost strength to the point that if you wish for it to stay horizontal, it will slowly fall back down to more vertical positions. The Leatherman 300 is a heck of a heavy tool and this holster keeps the tool safe, but its bulky. Under your shirt it is clearly visible, almost like a holster on a gunbelt. There is also a small loop attached to the top of the snap closure flap. I've yet to figure out what its for but the stitching feels strong, so the possibilities are endless. UPDATE: I've given up on the holster for my flashlight. The holster enables the button on the top of the light to be pushed, whether its stored upright or upside down. The swivel point only stays in a vertical position no matter the weight of what's in it. I've gone back to my Maxpedition Sheath ..

Belt up !!
Absolutely brilliant pouch for my expensive multi tool that I use all the time. This is my 2nd one as after 2yrs of daily use it got a bit worn but still useable. Belt clip is so good it's a bugger to get off when you have finished work. But it's never come off on its own. Very sturdy and as it rotates you can move it so when you sit down it doesn't get in the way. Best belt buddy , so this time I got 2 as a spare or I find something else to go on my belt. Even the snap closer is good even on my 2yr old one. So very well made and worth the money.
