Chihee Oil Strainer Pot Grease Can, 1.2 L Stainless Steel Oil Storage Can Container with Fine Mesh Strainer, Suitable for Storing Frying Oil and Cooking Grease

I’ve been using this grease container for a few day's now and it’s one of those things you don’t realise you need until you’ve got it. I mainly bought it for bacon grease (we cook a fair bit of pork in our house), and the fine mesh strainer does a great job of catching all the little bits so the oil stays clean for reuse. The 2L size is generous bigger than I expected so it easily holds enough without me worrying it’ll overflow after a couple of Sunday fry ups. The lid fits snugly, and the little tray underneath is a nice touch as it stops any drips from messing up the counter. It feels sturdy and well made, though it’s not the sort of thing you’d want to move around too much when full it’s quite heavy then. For me, it’s been great to have bacon grease on hand for cooking veg or adding flavour to other dishes. Overall, I’d give 5 out of 5 stars practical, easy to clean, and it looks neat enough to keep out on the counter without being an eyesore.

Before I purchased this I used to use a 900g empty Olive glass jar which was not ideal. This is high quality 304 steel so it doesn't rust, with a secure riveted handle and fine mesh strainer so no solids. I use it to strain all used oil which I only use once, to reduce carcinogen (every time you use it, the molecules break down) When it's full, I use cooking oil solidifier so I can dispose of it in the household waste and then either put in the dishwasher or kitchen sink. If you were doing deep fat frying you could use it to strain the oil after every use, however I would use oil filter papers (bigger versions of coffee filter papers) to catch the smaller particulates?

NOT 2L, - approximately one and a half L., but it will just about satisfy my needs I think. EDIT!! I've just used it for the first time and it sieved the oil perfectly,- crystal clear! I then returned the oil to its original container, (which I'd planned to do anyway), - then did the remaining oil and put that back as well, perfect! On the whole I'm very pleased with it!

Bought as I've started using my wok as a deep fryer and needed something decent for filtering the oil and storing it when not required as I use my wok for normal cooking also. Wish I had one of these before now, holds more oil than it states (currently got roughly 1.5l and plenty room left) might just be I got lucky I don't know. Strainer works well and is really useful, no more cleaning my normal strainer. Definitely recommended if your using it for small batch frying in pots or woks and you can use the oil for general frying adding flavour to your oil.

I don't deep fry very often and try to use as small a quantity of oil as I can. The strainer on this removes the crusty bits left in the pan so the oil can be returned to its container once cooled. I should really get a few stainless steel flasks in order to "air tightly" store used oils separately which have picked up flavours from different ingredients, e.g. fish, samosas, battered poultry, battered red meats etc.

One of the best purchases I have ever made. The strainer is micro and when used oil has cooled and the sediment has settled pour it through and you will be amazed. that bottle of oil you bought for frying will look as good as it did in the bottle until of course it comes to the end of it's life. As long as it's cool you can then get a funnel and pour ir it right back into the original bottle. It's brilliant!!

Works well. This is a good size for straining and storing oil used for frying for a couple of people. Probably too small to store the quantity in a deep fryer. The spout could be made a little more protruding to avoid spill / drip after pouring. I feel more confident with hot oil in stainless as compared with glass.

Perfect fine mesh that strains out all but the most microscopic particles. Would buy again.

I have waited for long for this item to arrive and now I use it constantly. Every time I use, I say to myself what I best buy that was. It is a very nice sized, very handy, stores oil properly and easy to clean. I love it and would recommend highly. it was worth the wait.
