Good beam with a decent amount of flood.
I have used Surefire for years. A brand I highly recommend and trust. I am beyond satisfied with this purchase. I ordered 2 and both flashlights came with a small battery case with 4 authentic Surefire batteries included as well as 2 inside your light, ready out the box. I compared the batteries to my Surefire batteries I had at home and they are legit. A total of 6 batteries included is very generous. Only complaint I have which has nothing to do with the seller was that my package surprisingly was actually delivered to the wrong address and luckily it was my neighbor who held onto it for me. Light is aluminum and extremely durable and can def take a beating. Cheers to your new Surefire light ladies and gentlemen! Lastly, thank you to the seller. I appreciate it. Also, I checked the Surefire website for the verified sellers and they happen to be one of them and that is why I did the purchase. You won’t regret it, high quality light, good amount of weight.

You get what you paid for.
You can't go wrong with SureFire products. This flashlight is tough and durable. Really bright light, throws plenty of peripheral light also. Minor draw backs are that battery life is limited to a few hours, and it can get pretty warm. But like I said, they're minor draw backs. SureFires are not cheap. It is a well made tool. You definitely get your moneys worth.

My Favorite Flashlight!
When you go with Surefire, the price is always heavy, but the performance is equally as weighted. This light is hard as nails, bright as the sun, and you can turn it down to it’s low beam (5 lumens) for an impressive run time of 63hrs. On high beam (1,000 lumens) it has a runtime of 2.75hrs. Great primary light if you are in security or law enforcement. I rely on it heavily at night to get the job done and ensure I have a crystal clear, white light field of vision. 9/10 would recommend, the minus 1 being the fact that you can find Streamlights for a little less money that produce the same results to a large degree.

Would give it 10 stars if I could.
Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth every penny. I completely depend on this flashlight for work and for seeing deep into woods on the darkest night AND for being a self defense companion to my primary defensive tool. The tactical dual setting switch is great. The first slight push gives a blinding 1000 lumen punch which you can maintain by pushing harder on the switch to engage the constant on mode. Press lightly and rapidly twice on the switch and you're in 5 lumen mode. To hold the 5 lumens just push harder to engage constant on. It is hard for anything to hide from this light, yet at 5 lumens it is harder for you to be detected. It lights first time every time and won't let you down. I spent more on dozens of cheaper flashlights than just buying this one time. Clips into front pocket without drawing attention and is light, comfortable and POWERFUL. This is the 4th, maybe 5th Surefire flashlight I have purchased and all of them still work like new after many years of service. This one, however, is the pinnacle of functionality and power in a pocket stowable edc light. I would recommend the rechargeable batteries and charging cradle. As an aside, I carry spare batteries in my pocket. They fit great in the pocket watch pocket of jeans or in a plastic case in a cargo pocket.

The brightest by far
Just ordered this Surefire defender and the Streamlight Protac HPL USB to compare both. Since both aren't 100% USA product I figured I would give them both a shot. I think Surefire has the edge though on close to all USA made. The beams, both are 1000 lumens, the surefire is a much more diffused beam and the Streamlight has a very obvious bright center spot to it. They are both well made and I think would both do well for just about any situation but I would chose the Surefire because it would handle better indoors or confined areas as well as outdoors. The Streamlight really throws a bright center spot a Lon distance though so depending on your scenario....that's my take on it. Streamlight is about half as much as the Surefire cost might be a factor for some also.

An excellent personal and home defences flashlight.
High end home security light and a self defense tool as well. The bezels around both ends of the flashlight are sharp enough to cause pain and some superficial bleeding if an assailant requires a blow to the face or forehead if the owner is holding the light and attacked by surprise. BTW, the flashlight on bright ( the default setting turning on the light) when ignited in the dark or twilight, will open at full candle emission. That degree of light, at night, will cause discomfort and temporary disorientation and "blindness" for the intruder. The sharp bezels on the flashlight body can cause facial/forehead pain and bleeding if assailant is struck on the face with end of the flashlight, which is strong enough to be used as a hand weapon. A superb flashlight and self defense tool. For casual use, chose low intensity light mode to conserve battery strength. Try it at night. You'll see what I mean.

Doesn’t like to be cold(fixed)
I really like this flash light. 1000 lumens will burn your eyes out. 5 lumens is perfect for walking the dog or looking for dropped items in the car at night. Sometimes I clip it to my vest when the moon is bright, with the flashlight on the outside. When it gets cold it only runs on 5 lumen setting and strobes. That would be an unpleasant surprise if you needed it for defensive purposes at that moment. If I keep it in my pocket it performs as advertised. Be aware though, if it’s below freezing it needs to kept warm. Edit: I sent the flashlight back to Surefire, I paid shipping(fine), it took about 2 months to get back. It’s summer time now so I put the light in my freezer for half an hour to see I could force the issue. I was able to do so before sending it in. Once I got it back it seems to function properly. The real test will be next winter when it’s far below freezing. But seems like it’s fixed. Thanks Surefire!!!

Can't say enough good things about this little light
Can't say enough good things about this little light. I lost an older version of this EDC tactical light (really bummed) and purchased this as a replacement. The good news is the older one was less powerful though functionally it was the same in all other aspects. It works as advertised. Cannot beat the build quality of Surefire. The SS clip is a nice feature for EDC and the crenellated bezel and tailcap on each end would make for more effective self-defense if needed. The light with 1000 lumens is absolutely blinding but the secondary mode is great for providing soft light in a non-tactical situation.
