History assumes a new importance for pupils as events in their parents' lives are put into perspective. Part of the "How We Used To Live" series, these video programmes (11-20) chronicle the post-war euphoria and the end of food rationing, the advent of the teenager and pop culture, the assassination of President Kennedy, the moon landing and the sweeping changes in moral attitudes. The events are mirrored in the lives of one family and their friends, and extensive use is made of archive footage. These programmes are supported by study packs for students, as well as teacher's notes.
