Needed it and love it. I couldn’t not cut her nails without it.

Worked great for a kitten to help calm them down for daily FIP injections. The kitten was really putting up a fight with being restrained, so we used this muzzle in addition to a blanket for burrito method and the combo worked great. How the muzzle covers the eyes is essential because when the cat can't see, it helps to calm them. There is a different brand i prefer for adult cats, but the fact that this muzzle comes in different sizes helped me find the correct small size for a very young kitty.

This helped immensely with Petunia' s bath. She doesnt mind me trimming her nails and I can do that w/o this. Super helpful for kitty kap application. She hates that she can't see. But I tried it on multiple times before her bath and gave her treats after. I talk to her when its on and she calms down. I put it on then put her bathing nag on. The bathing bag is full mesh so I needed this to prevent biting and freakout over water. It did just what it is made to do. It is a bit too big. I'm going to add extra Velcro at the end. I followed based off her weight and size but it is just a bit big. She is way calmer and I can get all her kitty kaps on at one go which is great! She doesn't normally bite hard. But with her first bath and just trying to get it done and prevent scrathes and bites to me it worked wonders! Only downside is sizing seemed a bit off. Medium was too big.

My cat who is both terrified and a terror at claw trim time obviously doesn’t like this muzzle…but as the person trying to avoid being bitten or clawed, I found it hard to secure. While I chose the size according to her weight, I found it was a bit loose and didn’t stay in place—either slipping downward or not maintaining the nose opening in a way that I felt was safe for her.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a professional groomer and have been grooming cats for twenty years now with relatively few issues over all that time. I know how to properly handle and safely restrain cats when necessary. Our usual supplier was out of the cat muzzles that I normally buy, so I purchased several of these as an alternative, and it ended up costing me a lot more than the price of the muzzle itself. I've been grooming a particular cat for over 2 years now, and know he can occasionally be feisty for his nails. I've always muzzled him for that part of the groom, for my own safety, and never had any issues with him making contact with my hand in the other brand of muzzle. For our most recent groom a couple of weeks ago, I used this brand instead, and got through one paw and two nails on another paw before the cat literally bit me THROUGH the muzzle. Within less than a minute, my hand had swelled up massively and I ended up at the Urgent Care getting antibiotics and an updated tetanus shot, with instructions to report to the hospital if the swelling moved further up my arm, and come back in two days for a follow-up regardless. In my 20 years of grooming cats, literally hundreds of cats per year, this is only the third skin-piercing bite I've ever sustained, and the first to happen through a muzzle. I will not be trusting my safety with this flimsy piece of junk in the future.

Bought this for my cat to use when I clip claws. My silver tabby, American short hair, is a bit plump at 16 lbs. It is always a challenge clip her claws. She hisses and bites when clipping her claws. Her size makes it difficult to hold the scruff of her neck. My husband would cover her eyes AND try to hold her still, but it was difficult. Using this mask really works well on her. With the mask, he only needs to hold her body (so she doesn't try to run away). And I can clip her claws without either of us getting bit or scratched. Another pleasant surprise is that the same mask fits her brother. He is only a little over 12 lbs. sleek build, and a couple of inches taller than his sister. Also an american short hair, bombay I think, he is not too big. About average for this breed. I used it on him too, primarily to calm him. He isn't as aggressive when cliping his claws, just tries to squirm away. And he is incredibly strong. So my husband still had to grab the scruff of his neck but the mask helped calm him. I'm pretty sure he would be able to pull off the mask given the opportunity. Highly recommend for supervised use. Would not leave this on unattended as most cats would likely figure out a way to remove any muzzle. It is in their nature. :)

**updated review 09/12/18** I was given a full refund plus shipping costs and ordered a new one hoping the first was just a defective product. I tried it on my one year old cat and and with this on him plus a lot of petting and soft talking my husband and I were able to cut his nails without too much squirming. I definitely see a difference with this Muzzle on him compared to without it. There was a little bit of squirming, but we were able to calm him down quickly by talking to him. Hopefully it will work just as well on our older female cat, she is the difficult one. I'm not sure if this works because the Velcro is the same on both sides, therefore it won't stick together. I would have returned it, but I cut the hole a little bigger so my cats could breathe better. The short time it was on it seemed to work but it kept coming apart and then I realized why. I may have gotten a defective product, but I won't waste my money buying this brand again, I will look elsewhere for my next purchase.

We have a huge male cat who hates having his nails trimmed and blood drawn. Poor fellow is diabetic and his insulin dose needs to be adjusted based on his Fructosamine level. This mask is easy to apply, helps keeps fangs at bay without stressing him or limiting breathing. We also use a wrap to keep him calm and control his legs.

My cat remained calm and unfazed by the muzzle which was easy to fit. I was able to clip his claws quickly without any apprehension on my part. I wish I had found one of these years ago...Happy Cat and Owner.

I put my cat in a cat burrito, then put this mask on. My cat doesn't like it but once I'm all done and give him some treats he forgot all about it. I've been using for about two months and I wish I would have purchased it sooner. Highly recommend for bitey cats.

I have a three year old Siberian cat who absolutely hates nails being clipped! I usually take her to the groomers but tried this instead, easy to put on even with the cat darting away! It was too big (got medium) but that’s my fault should’ve gone smaller, she has a lot of fur which makes her head look bigger! Cried and moaned and tried to bite/scratch me, managed to scratch me but barely bite me! After about 5 minutes she sat down and let me cut her front nails. Wasn’t game to do anymore! Overall it works well but I’ll be ordering a smaller one!
