Will the receiver work while the USB port is plugged in?

It does work, but for me I get a horrible buzz if the receiver is charging while using it. Works great otherwise, charges fast and lasts pretty long. When we do all day classes, I just charge the receiver and the body pack during lunch.

how do you make this macbook/iphone compatibile?

This product works with iPhone but we do not recommend to use it with MacBook. If your iPhone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, use the the TS to TRRS adapter cable included in the box; for iPhone 7 or above which does not have 3.5mm headphone jack, an original Lightning to 3.5mm adapter is needed (NOT included in the box). How do you sync with an android tablet?

Use the included headphone spitter and the 6.35 to 3.5mm adapter, you can use this wireless headset microphone system with Andriod or IOS tablets/smartphones. Thank you.

Will this work with a sony 4k camcorder?

Yes, it works with a Sony 4K camcorder as it has mic input. It works with most camcorders and DSLR cameras with mic input. Thank you.
