HOTEC UHF Wireless Headset Microphone/Lavalier Lapel Mic with Bodypack Transmitter and Mini Rechargeable Receiver 1/4" Output for Vlogging or Speech

This is probably one of the most budget friendly options for a wireless mic transmitter/receiver setup you will find anywhere. That being said, it's still an extremely good buy. Setup and use is extremely easy, turn it on, plug it in and you're done. For those of you who aren't sure of how to use this with your computer/phone/tablet - this does not pair wirelessly, nor does it plug it with the USB port for audio transfer. You need to plug this into a 1/4" TRS or 1/8" mic jack to use this. If your chosen device does not have that jack, you can buy an adapter or search for a "usb sound card." Now that that's out of the way. The sound quality is surprisingly good, even with the included microphone (I'm assuming it is better with a higher quality microphone but sadly, i did not have one to test it with). After recording the video review, I did notice that the hiss pretty much disappeared when I moved the receiver away from my tripod. I think the aluminum tripod acted like a bit of an antenna for interference. The sound is actually more than adequate, and especially considering the price you're paying. Overall, I'd highly recommend this for someone who is trying to record videos/audio for pretty much anything except if you're recording an album in a studio. I recently bought this microphone to enhance my YouTube content. I have already have Yeti Microphone, but I needed something wireless when I need to move around during gameplay (I have a gaming channel) while I use a Virtual Reality headset. There are limitations to the current headset that does not enable the microphone in the headset to stream to other devices. In order to share my on-time reactions, I wanted a lavalier microphone and after research and reviews, I decided on this microphone. I had already spent enough on my Yeti microphone but did not want to spend a lot on a lavalier microphone that I would be using all the time. As soon as I received the microphone, I looked over the instructions and plugged it into my desktop (Omen Gaming PC running on Windows 10). The microphone was not being recognized by my PC. I tried everything and even looked into the troubleshooting section in the manual. I was up until MIDNIGHT trying to get this microphone to work and then suddenly right before I went to bed after defeat I had an idea. I knew the microphone was working, but my PC was not recognizing it. So I bought a USB soundcard (off of Amazon as well) and that did the trick. I plugged in the microphone into the soundcard-which was plugged into the computer and it immediately started working (on the software that I was using to record video)! So after that work around the microphone was able to FINALLY WORK. Now here is why I choose my ratings: -SOUND QUALITY Once the computer and the software recognized the microphone I listened to the playback of the sound quality and in all honesty, it sounds EXCELLENT. If you are not familiar with audio adjustment or filters that you can add to audio this might be a little tricky to use in outdoor environments. But with some later software adjustments, I could get this lavalier microphone to sound like a studio-quality microphone easily. It does pick up ALOT of background noise, so if you are outside and there's a lot of background noise I can't guarantee it will not pick up the other sounds. -EASY TO USE It is plug and play, the mics, mini receiver, and the transmitter were able to synch together as soon as I turned them on but trying to get my PC to recognize it was a nightmare. So I WILL WARN YOU AHEAD OF TIME be prepared or go ahead and buy ahead of time the USB sound card they range anywhere from $12-$20. -VALUE FOR MONEY The build of both the microphones, mini receiver, and the transmitter are great. They don't feel like cheap plastic and they have some weight to them. A lot of lavalier microphones that many YouTuber's use are 2-3x the price average so this is great value. -OVERALL RATING 4/5 because of the difficulty of trying to get my computer to recognize the microphone that notched it down from being 5 out of 5 stars. If it was truly plug in and play it would of been able to receive the 5 stars EASY.

In looking for an inexpensive headset for fitness classes, this was actually the 3rd different one I tried. First option was surprisingly good. Took a beating, soaked in sweat and lasted longer than expected. 2nd one still works. But, to save $10 I lost a lot of quality. I got this one on a recommendation. It was pretty good. Just not as good as my first one as far as sound quality. Where this one excels is the signal quality and distance. But, I used it 6 times before it started crackling relentlessly. For me, this was a waste of money. Especially now with the masks required at the gym, there's no sweat dripping on the mic, this should last much longer than roughly 6 hours of use. I'm definitely disappointed.

I tried this with my Galaxy S9+, GoPro Hero7 and computer. It didn't work with anything. It did work with my phone one time. But it never worked again. As best I can tell, the problem is with the connector jacks. First, they just feel really cheap and flimsy. When you plug one of the wires into them they're very loosey-goosey and you're never sure if they're solidly connected. Since I had the one successful attempt on my S9, I kept fiddling around with it and did about ten more tries. ALL of them were completely silent except one other. The only other video that I could get audio out of when this was plugged into my phone - all I got was a little scratchy sound as I twisted the male jack back and forth in the female socket. As I was twisting it I got a very scratchy sound and could hear my voice a bit (barely). But when I stopped messing around with it the sound was gone again. The bottom line is this - sure, maybe you'd be able to get it to work here and there. BUT... you'll never know if it worked until after you finish making your recording. It's so unreliable you'll have no way of knowing except by listening after you've made each recording. So, who is going to sit there and make any video of any length, 1, 2, 5, 10 minutes or more without having some way of knowing if it's picking up your audio until after you're done! Sorry, Hotec, but I need something far more reliable than that. I'm not going to risk wasting my time on even a quick 30-second video when I can't know for sure it's picking up the audio. Oh, and don't bother responding to this 1-star review, like you have to all the others. I don't need to know your support people will be happy to help me out. There's actually nothing they can do because your product is so cheaply made and flawed. No amount of support can fix that. So, please don't waste their time... not on my behalf anyway.

I need to create stories for work, via an IPhone. Using a wired microphone is very difficult. I purchased this in hopes that I could get decent audio without being close to the phone. It worked brilliantly! I used it around 100 feet away from the phone and the audio was very good. There were a couple of times that it sounded over modulated but I will look into to see if I can turn it down a bit. It was simple to use and charges very easily. I also recorded audio tracks on my PC using Audacity software and it worked like a charm. I also reached out to the customer service and got a reply back in a few hours. They want you to have success with their product. This is a great buy! -Pleased Customer

I bought this product to do virtual fitness classes. The sound quality has upped the quality of my classes. Because it comes with a wireless transmitter, I am able to move around while talking. I can be far enough from the camera to show my whole body and I don't need to talk loudly for people to hear me. First, I was using this with my Iphone and then I was able to transition to using it on my computer. Very adaptable! I've also been able to take this to other studios and plug directly into their speaker system. The product comes with lots of adapters for the wireless transmitter so there's always a plug that will work. Note: this does NOT come with a lightning cable adapter so you'll need to buy this adapter separately if you want to plug this into your Ipad or Iphone. Overall, this is a great product for the price and I'm very happy with it.
