Chain link gate hold backs are used to hold the gate in an open position. To install, drive or cement a post in the ground where you'd like the gate to stop and remain open. Bolt on gate holdback so that the weighted portion of the holdback is down, lever up. When the gate opens, bottom horizontal piece of gate will push lever; the weight on bottom will push lever back up, holding gate in place. To release gate, lift up on 'duckbill' of holdback.
