Excellent Product
My Misty is 3 and she used to play so much with all her toys, and now, not so much. This toy triggered her interest as I put the battery operated bugs into it, also other toys she really likes so good for now. Well made.

This is the ONE
I have always adopted adult cats but over the holidays I ended up taking a kitten that was headed for the shelter. I've been around kittens, of course, but never actually raised one of my own, so I was not prepared for how BUSY they are. My little guy was into everything (I'm not exaggerating) and he was climbing curtains, destroying rolls of toilet paper and even getting into the trash! I didn't really have many cat toys, especially toys that did not require constant human interaction and I'm at work all day. I tried several things, and he'd play with anything for a few minutes, but then abandon it for the next cheap thrill. Right out of the box, he played with this thing 30+ minutes, left it to fling some kitty litter around, then came right back to it. I don't care if it's cardboard, it seems pretty sturdy and I'll replace it every couple of months if I have to. I'll update if anything changes but for now it's Highly recommended! Update: July 27, so it's been 6 months approx and my young cat still loves this toy, in fact he's playing with it right now which prompted me to update this. Out of all the cat toys I purchased, this one got me the most bang for my buck and is still the favorite months later. My older cat (10+ years) has never touched it though, but she has never really played much with independent toys.

Fun for kittens, but not indestructable
My 5 month old kitten likes it somewhat, and she does use the cardboard scratching area, albeit it's rather small. I can see where a more destructive cat would tear it apart, since it's made from all paper products.

IF YOU HAVE A KITTEN, YOU NEEEED THIS
My video will not upload! I JUST acquired a 6 week old kitten rescue. I figured an interactive toy would be good for him as he is quite the puff ball of energy. This toy arrived, I opened it and set it on the floor, immediately my tiny kitten knew it was for him and he mastered exactly how to play with it. It took nearly an hour from the time I set it on the floor for him to decide to move on to other things. Every morning I let him out of his play pen, he B-lines for this toy and spends on average 25 minutes completely enthralled by it in MULTIPLE intervals throughout the day. 10/10 completely recommend and I find it absolutely necessary for kittens! Furthermore, my human impression when I opened this item was shock. For the price, the durability and beautiful aesthetic is hard to beat. It looks amazing and feels very sturdy. I am extremely satisfied, but Ongo is even more so.

She likes it now with a modification.
Our cat was initially not interested, so I removed the balls that came with it and replaced them with a small felt ball that she could grab and pull out with her paws. Now she is playing with it.

Cats enjoy playing with it
I was a little worried when I first took this toy out of the box as it didn't feel overly 'premium'. Definity not real wood or anything being used but that's understandable for the price. It's been a little while now and the cats love it and have been playing with it a good bit and it's not showing any signs of wear and tear so I'd say the material choices used for it stand up to test so far for striking a low price but good durability factor.

Scratch and Play
This item is durable and already assembled; therefore, no need to put anything together. Not only is it entertaining, as a playset; the scratching post is an additional added bonus, which also relieves scratches to the furniture. The item came with three balls inside that makes a chime sound, which really gets one's attention. Also, it helps with eye and reflex coordination b/c each time the cat's paw hits the top holes, the ball moves in a cyclic direction, and makes a pleasant bell-like sound. I must admit; not vexing at all, and really durable. I am pleased with this purr-chase.

"I need help! I need help!"
It's not a good sign when you hear "I need help! I need help!" being shouted by your significant other from the other room as he tried to get the toy out of the box the toy came in. I thought for sure he had cut himself with a box cutter or something. But no. Apparently the silica packet was busted, and while he was taking the toy out of the box, tiny little silica gel balls scattered all over our kitchen. Of course both cats were in the kitchen because of the jingle bell sounds the toy was making and then the silica balls. We had to herd them into a room and lock them in there while we tried to find all the little silica balls. It was a nightmare--pretty much the epitome of a dangerous cat toy. I am not sure how or why this happened, but PLEASE be careful when opening this toy and maybe do so AWAY from your cats in case you too encounter broken silica packets. Y'know, those things that say "DO NOT EAT" on them.

Great toy but
the cat loves playing with it but the top veneer comes off relatively easily

Damaged, made cheaply
Came in damaged, was not packaged in protective wrap. Box was wet. Product is made of cardboard, hence, it was deformed from condensation. Not sturdy item, or packaged well, had to returned
