This is such a classic story
The Little Red Hen probably goes back to before I was born, which was halfway through the last century. I recall seeing an old copy of it at my husbandās parents home because reading was always important in that house. Confidentially, I missed out on a lot of the classic stories growing up because my parents didnāt seem to understand the importance of introducing their children to books nor did they read to us. But my husband & I made sure that our own children had plenty of books to read. Itās so easy to buy a stack of books from an annual library sale for such low prices. Weāre blessed in our community in that respect. Reading is important. I also like to carry on a family tradition of reading to our children, which both of us did with our children & our children are now doing with their own children. So when Amazon showed me this book, I couldnāt resist buying a copy for my granddaughter. And she loves it. Whatās really awesome about this book is that she can apply it to her own life because she & her parents have chickens, among other things. Our granddaughter is growing up in the country & she loves everything about it. She even feeds the chickens every day. I highly recommend this treasure of a book. You donāt have to be rich to buy a fun story for your child.

Beautiful pictures and classic story of hard work pays off.
Jerry Pinkney does a great job recreating classic folktales. The Little Red Hen did not disappoint. Lavish illustrations along with an easy-to-read, repetitive text had my 6-year-old grandson enthralled with this new-to-him story. This assuredly will become a new favorite.

Practically perfect
The story is timeless, the illustrations lovely. The young recipient loved it. Only 4 stars, though, because the book arrived with a torn dust jacket (paper cover). I had to remove it since the book was a gift.

Las ilustraciones son preciosas y transmite un principio. Cuento muy popular en la cultura americana y desagraciadamente poco conocido en los paĆses latinos.
