At most you have about an 1/8" if both pieces of metal are compressed fully. The bolts should have be a 1/4" longer. A previous order I had received I was able to install by myself. Right out of the package you can tell that these are high quality air vents. These are stainless steel and are a two piece plate set. The outer plate is the actual ventilation cover and the second plate is a debris field and insect prevention with extremely small holes. If that tail is smaller than a carpenter ant's arse, it's not getting in. These ventilation plates will definitely allow good air flow to elevate the high heat temperatures. If one thing we know in shipping, these shipping containers get blasted hot inside. Installation of these vents is pretty easy. I say that just in case you don't feel confident enough to install them. I get it, but it really is! Value for these stainless steel air vents, especially for being a specialty product, are a fair deal. ----------‐‐---------------------------- Tools needed: Goggles (Mandatory! No questions!) 4 ½" Grinder with metal blade/or cutting torch. Marker/Pencil Drill Optional: Although these come with screws, personally, I would forego them and use rivets.
