Review: It works! - After purchasing 4 of these (would buy more but they aren't stocked in bulk on desertcart.), I will submit the following description: About the inverter itself: The inverter is a solid block, takes 12VDC and puts the output on a female JST SM 2-pin connector, which makes it compatible with nearly every EL product on desertcart. The length of the wire on the output is around 18 inches. My experience: I had an inverter fail after continuous usage 24/7 powering 3 10 foot lengths of EL wire. The failure caused the inverter to use > 2A of power, and there was a bulge on the side of the inverter. No big deal, at least it's not hard to figure out which one failed. I will be purchasing several more of these inverters as they become available. The glow on a single 3 FT EL strip (sold by GrayBean) powered by this product is brighter than the battery pack inverters that came with the product. The inverter can be powered by a computer power supply. Update: A new inverter has failed after 50 hours of continuous usage powering 10 feet of EL wire. Same failure mode as the first inverter, except this time there was smoke and the inverter did not short the power supply. I would not recommend powering these inverters off the same power supply you use to power your computer. To the manufacturer: I would like to purchase more of your products on your website, specifically your EL wire without an associated inverter (currently no one sells this on desertcart), and your male and female JST SM 2-pin connectors for electroluminescent products, and your EL panels.. but I don't trust your site with my information.
