That being said, there are sewing uses for it. It’s not meant to construct a garment. It won’t hold up to the wear and tear of seams. It can be used for top stitching when you want that shiny look or something decorative. Some buttonholes look good with it. If you are new to sewing or sew very little, don’t buy these. I didn't get a thread chart so they emailed one to me. I looked up the numbers and wrote down the 4 digit code that's usually on designs I download. Also, I found that if I use a box cutter to slightly cut the little thread holder on the bottom of the spool, if locks the thread in place.
