To me, it tastes like teriyaki with extra black pepper. That and brown sugar give it a sweet, peppery kick. The pieces that could be eaten were tasty indeed. Unfortunately, in three of the twelve packs the jerky was so rubbery it was impossible to chew. I tried and ultimately threw them out. The flavor is a cut above the crowd, but the rubbery texture is disappointing and costly.
