Rebone MH rod Great, Amazon great, sneder; not so Much?
the Hurricane Redbone spinning rod is a very solid rod, which I purchased on Amazon primarly due to availibity and price point. I had my concerns, simply because in the 2nd customer service comment section, the purchaser experiend the same dang experience that I did; Excellent Amazon listing, super good pricing as in regard to national retial adverised price, and this part is where it get's ugly, Free Shipping and Handling, not so much? with out a doubt the China buillt Redbone rod is what it is, it's just the horrible look on your face when you get home from a long 12 hour day at work, and your brand new Hurricane spinning rod, is sandwiched between to flimsy long striops of cardboard, taped half a-- together with some cheap, clear, brittle opacking tape, I knew i for sure, I was totally "screwed" you betcha; the very end of the brand new rod was snapped off/ broken just as pretty as you please, between the 1st and 2nd guides. Of course, my first reaction was wanting to resend? that same destroyed spinning rod back to it's original numb nuts sneder, and stick it so far up there non business rump, so what do we do, broken rod, now 6 inches shorter than orignally built, and no end guide, no braid, no fishy, No deal. reat rod, great price, great customer service before and during purchase, once they got your money, they don't give a crap that your purchase will arrive at your door step, damaged. just got to love it!

Broke after catching my 3rd red fish.
Broke after catching my 3rd red fish. The first rod I received was broken 6" down from the tip in the same place as the second one did

New Redbone owner
Recently purchased Redbone rod, 7ft medium action. Have used it twice and overall, am pleased with it. I've also have a Voltus rod(by Shimano)with another reel and like it better, has a much more confortable handle that the one on the Redbone. I'll buy another Voltus rod when needed, but not the Redbone. Besides, the Voltus rod is 1/2 the price of the Redbone.

Excellent rod, miserable shipping/handling
The rod itself:I have owned this model Redbone (RB-456) for several years. It is my favorite light spinning outfit in my collection (equipped with a Shimano Saros 3000F). Feel and action are matters of personal preference, but I prefer the action of this rod (and the rest of the Redbone lineup) to the UglyStiks I grew up with. Regarding less subjective features, the matte black finish is attractive and durable. The guides show no signs of wear, even after fairly heavy use. The cork grip has also worn well. My purchase from Amazon was for a second rod.The rod from Amazon:Arrived broken. Very broken. I notice another reviewer had the same experience. Buyer beware. I am still awaiting a replacement. While inconvenient for me, my biggest complaint is about this shameful waste of excellent rods because Amazon can't package them appropriately.

Arrived broken, should have read reviews
Same as 3 of 4 other reviews. Great product at a great price, arrived broken. Packaged by monkeys in 1 wrap of bubble wrap. Without even opening the package could look through the wrap and SEE that the tip was broken (btw 1st and 2nd)and 2 guides smashed down. I can't believe that so little concern is displayed after the sale and that this recurring problem has not been addressed. I particularily hope that Hurricane -a great company with a wonderful product at agreat price- isn't having to eat these under warranty. After refund goes through, will likely reorder through vendor other than Amazon or whose sales are not fulfilled by Amazon. I have never had a complaint or anything short of excellent products/services from Amazon in the past. Love them, have never in my life made a complant or bad review of any product or vendor online or off. But this is so ridiculous as to require negativecomment, particularily in light of the fact that my situatiuon perfectly reflects 3 of 4 other posters. I'll read (and heed) others' reviews in the future.

AMAZING BUY!!!!! BEST ROD EVER!!
Best rod EVER!!! I bought the 7 foot medium light for trout fishing, spanish mackeral, and bait fish. But this rod turned out to be a beast. I have caught 20 pound jacks, cobia, 46 inch snook, HUGE stingray, and many redfish. At first i though it would be great for small fish, but boy was i wrong this rod even the meduim light has wrangled in some huge hogs (as listed above). Best buy in the world. But i would recommend buying from the official sight, because there packaging is much better then from here. I will soon switch all my serious salt water rods to the redbone serious. AMAZING BUY!!! I also would recommend pairing it with a Pflueger Supreme MGX. Great buy for the price, but they are both beasts.

Great company.
Redbone rods are high quality. The guides are great, the cork handle feels good in your hand. The company really stands behind their lifetime warranty. Mail the rod in with 15 bucks and you get a new one in about 2 weeks. I own about 8 redbone rods and would definitely buy more of them if I needed one. I don't mind letting my kids use the rod because if it breaks, I'll get another. They use high quality cork for the handle. They are sensative but strong rods. I own mostly medium action and medium heavy.
