I have a big flat weight that I use to flatten bacon when I cook it. I've learned to strategically place this over the mold to hold much of the edges down while pouring in the whites. With fingers I quickly try to push down on the last area that the weight doesn't cover. You need to use a flat pan to get the eggs to not leak out of the mold. Make sure to spray the mold and pan, it helps. I have used large eggs and find they work well. I was happy to find these other animal face egg molds so inexpensive and bought them thinking they would work just like the one I already had. They cost less than the single one I already owned. HOWEVER, they are useless! I’d rather pay the extra money for a quality mold that works, than have six molds that create mutilated-looking animal faces.
