So it will not work with yoyr nvr. **Q: does the light turn on automatically at sunset and off at sunrise or do i need to wire it to a switch?** A: Ours is configured so that the light only comes on when triggered by motion (either in the camera frame or the IR motion-sensor). That said, the light won't come on during the daytime (although the security camera still does record a clip, and it will still sound an alarm if configured to do so). On the smartphone app, there is a control widget for manually turning the light on and off, so maybe this could serve in place of a switch for you? If 110V-AC is removed from the unit, its security functions will also stop operating (and when power is applied again, the unit will need to reboot and reconnect to your wifi, etc. ... the whole process takes a couple of minutes, and its security functions probably aren't fully active until the process is completed). It's made to be wired to 110V-AC continuously, in which case its security features are always active ... so if you do put it on a switch, you'll likely want the switch "on" all the time (day + night). The unit does have a "soft-reset" switch ... but for some unknown reason, ours sometimes gets in a funky state where even the soft-reset switch doesn't get it working again. In such cases, we actually need to remove 110V-AC power from the unit for a minute and then power it back up (i.e., do a power-cycle "hard-reset"), after which it works fine again. This is somewhat of an inconvenience (climbing on a step-ladder to where we have it mounted, unscrewing two machine screws, and removing the light/camera fixture from its base attached to the wall) ... this hard-reset ordeal would be much less inconvenient if we had a switch controlling the 110V-AC. Maybe a future firmware update will cure its tendency to latch into a funky (non-working) state every month or two or three .... Hope this helps. **Q: how siren work** A: From the free "Camb" smartphone (Android or iPhone or iPad) app, tap on the play video ">" symbol (which will bring up a menu) and then select live video. While the live video is playing, tap on the circled "+" in the lower-right corner of the live video display, which will deploy five new buttons in a quarter circle (see the "CAMB APP" photo included in the product description on Amazon). Clockwise from the 9-o'clock position, these buttons are: (a) capture an image from the live video and save it to your mobile device; (b) mute or enable your mobile device microphone to talk through the remote speaker in the wall sconce; (c) manually turn the wall light on or off remotely, in real time; (d) record a video clip and save it your mobile device; and (e) manually turn on or off the ALARM SIREN in the wall sconce. (Hence the ALARM SIREN is the button at the 12-o'clock position). The siren is quite loud, so should you see an intruder on the live video feed from the wall sconce, being able to turn on the ALARM SIREN remotely is a nice feature. (For the same reason, the siren is NOT something I nor my neighbors would want to hear triggered by a false alarm, so I've not investigated to see if there is an automatic setting for the siren. But remote-control manually via the CAMB APP is a nice feature ...). **Q: Are paid subscritions to fully utilize features required? If so, what is cost?** A: We are using it without subscribing to the "cloud storage" option, and overall we are happy with it. When its motion-detection is triggered (and/or when its advanced "intruder detection" feature is triggered), it will record a video clip to the internal 16Gb memory card, and if you've enabled the push notification feature on the CAMB smartphone app, it will send an alert to the smartphone, where the same CAMB app will let you view the video clips recorded and saved on the card inside the wall sconce (in addition to viewing live video from the fixture's camera). The cloud storage paid subscription obviously provides much more storage capacity, but so far we haven't needed to go that route. The product descriptions say you can replace the default 16Gb memory card with up to a 64 Gb card, but the instructions do not say where the memory card (slot) is located, and close visual inspection prior-to/during installation was not sufficient to reveal the location !! (Hopefully the SELLER or another user will answer the questions posted here seeking help with that ...). From the CAMB app, you can see how much storage space on the memory card is used and how much is free, and you can also erase (reformat) the memory card remotely via the app. Presumably once the card fills up, the camera will overwrite the oldest video clips with the newest video clips (so reformatting the card is not absolutely necessary, but it's probably still a good thing to do every-so-often to prevent the memory card from gradually becoming corrupted ...). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really nice camera. *by B***3 on September 13, 2018* Great looking, great quality video. We'll see! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Attractive LED floodlight with very capable Hi-Def WiFi security camera / microphone+speaker / remotely-activated alarm siren *by J***Y on July 20, 2018* This is a very well-designed, well-built, and attractive (modern) LED wall sconce floodlight with built-in passive infrared (PIR) motion detection, a HiDef (1080p) WiFi video camera, microphone and speaker, and a loud alarm siren that can be activated from a smartphone while viewing the live video feed. We installed ours outside in a 'breezeway' between our garage and kitchen door, but as illustrated in the manufacturer's description the unit would also look nice mounted outside your front entry door. Hardware installation is easy, and using the smartphone (iPhone or Android or iPad tablet) "CAMB" app, the WiFi setup is also largely automatic and straightforward. We encountered a few bumps in the road that we had to work around (since: (i) our old Android smartphone didn't have a built-in QR-code scanning feature, so we had to install a separate app for that before we could scan the QR-code on the wall sconce that enables the CAMB app to communicate with the fixture via WiFi, and (ii) the WiFi configuration software requires the use of a WiFi password, as opposed to say, MAC filtering for WiFi security), but we suspect most users should not encounter either of those problems. Video image quality is very good, and depending on the smartphone's 4G or 3G signal strength, you can switch the live video being received through the CAMB app from HD to SD (which requires less bandwidth and looks almost as good on a phone's small screen anyway). Hopefully the manufacturer will continue to develop and improve the CAMB smartphone app as well as the device firmware, which all seems newly introduced and maybe not yet 100% bulletproof ... but all the basic functionality is present, and in our experience it all seems to work, most of the time. After we had it installed for 2 or 3 weeks, we did experience one glitch (maybe a problem with our smartphone, or our WiFi router ... not 100% sure this glitch was really the fault of the FREECAM L910) where the smartphone app could no longer receive video from the security camera. Using the reset button on the FREECAM L910 did not fix it, but after we removed AC power from the FREECAM L910 and powered it back on, we were able to get everything working again (most users will probably have this unit wired through a light switch, so switching AC power off and then back on again would be straightforward in that case ... our installation has it AC powered all the time, so we had to demate it from the wall to power it off and then remate it to the wall again, but this simply involved a step ladder and 2 mounting screws, so it was no big deal ...). If not for this one glitch and the lack of a fully mature / bulletproof / feature-rich CAMB app, the FREECAM L910 would have easily earned a 5-star ranking !
