Phone was broken when received *by I***N on July 6, 2026* Phone was not working properly when first received. The backlight would stay on much longer than it should have even after turning the sleep mode on the lowest amount of time allowed. After a couple days the screen went blank with white and pink stripes running from top to bottom. I did a system reset and it worked again but still with the back light issue. After another 5 days the phone glitched again and the pink and white screen came on and I could not reset it this time. I contacted apple support to see if it was a software issue. They said that the backlight was faulting and that I would either have to send it to apple to fix$$$$$ or have a third party look into it which would have been the less expensive route. I was not willing to spend ~$300 to fix a phone I had just purchased so I contacted Amazon to see what my options were. They had me work through the merchant to get a refund. Almost 2 weeks of back and forth and only when threatening a bad review did the merchant send a shipping label and stated “return will be processed 2 to 5 business days after the return was complete” I sent information stating the phone was in their possession, including tracking number and waited for my return. More than 5 business days went by and I contacted the merchant asking when my return would be processed. At this point, they said I would have to pay a “restocking fee” because there was an “accessory” that was not included in the return. There was no accessory, and when questioned what they were talking about they could not provide info on the “accessory” They would not process my return. I would look toward other merchants before making the mistake I made in purchasing from them.
