There was no turning back now. Teeth welded together from the thick texture. I couldn’t breathe. I had to soldier on. I was strong. I knew I could do it. Mouth was dry, swirling my tongue around to bring out any moisture to help break it down. All this time the peanut taste was sensational. A mix of emotions overtook me. Gorgeous nutty taste but unable to swallow for fear of gluing my throat shoot. 23 minutes later, there was a break. It loosened up. There was hope. I swallowed a tiny bit of it. What? I was still alive? I’ve got this now. Victory was in sight. After 38 minutes of agonising, suffocating bliss, my mouth was clear. I’d done it. A quick mouthful of milk to clear the mouth, I was ready to go again. This time it’s a table spoon.
