### ⭐ Dreadful result on my carbothello soft pastel paintings.
*by P***T on 6 October 2026*

I am exceptionally disappointed in this. It is supposed to be one of the best fixatives for soft pastels and has had some rave reviews here. However my experience is that, despite following the instructions and the tips from other users, my paintings HAVE darkened considerably. not only that but it seems to have split the consistency of the pastels (much the same way that cream can be split) so that where the painting was originally soft and smooth it is now VERY grainy. I shan't be using this again!
