The passthrough was night vs. day. The first time I pushed the eight wires though the connector, I found that the first two wires had crossed. I pulled the eight wires out, corrected the positioning, pushed them back through, and all eight were in the correct sequence. I didn't have to start the end from scratch like I would have with my non-passthrough connectors! I used scissors to cut off most (but not all) of the excess wiring so they would fit into my crimper, then crimped the connectors. Both ends were successful on the first try, and my networked registered the computer as gigabit. Speedtest.net transferred at 940 mb/s. Also, the cable sheathing now goes far beyond the crimp point in the connector, whereas it was a crapshoot with the non-passthrough connectors whether the sheathing would even make it to the crimp point.
